Rural location on the edge of a small Derbyshire village of Holymoorside

The Cottage is all on one level with ample private parking. The lounge has a feature stone fireplace with a wood burning stove. The kitchen is fully fitted and well equipped with a gas hob, electric oven, fridge and microwave. Laundries facilities are situated next to the cottage in the outhouse; there is a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer, you are also able to store bicycles in here and it is lockable.
Outside there is a secure garden area, including a patio seating area for four next to the brook. The bird feeders outside the cottage attract a good variety of local birds and are a joy to watch. Pets are welcome by arrangement with a small charge.

We are 2 miles from a large supermarket and there is a regular village bus service into Chesterfield.

Holymoorside Village is ¾ mile from the cottage. There are two pubs, the Bulls Head serves restaurant and bar meals and the Lamb Inn has a good selection of real ales. There are many footpaths available locally offering beautiful walks both short and long. Holymoorside is situated on the edge of the Peak District and is in easy reach of both Chatsworth and Haddon Estates. The busy market towns of Chesterfield and Bakewell are a short drive away, both offer good shopping facilities.

Beautiful location for a Cosy Cottage.
When searching for a property near to Bakewell my priority was a property all on one level due to disabilities as well as taking dogs. This was perfect. A stunning rural location close to amenities as well as travelling distance to surrounding areas, Bakewell, Castleton etc. The cottage was beautifully warm and cosy with comfortable beds, 1 double and 2 bunk beds and well equiped kitchen etc. The location was stunning, mill stream running in front of the cottage, a pond with a meadow to watch the wildlife. Beautiful Flora and Fauna and native trees. The downside was no WIFI but a signal of 4g could be found if your phone was in the window or outside. (This can be common in rural areas and cottages with stone walls) Will definitely stay again in the future.

So peaceful
We stayed for a week in this incredibly beautiful location. The cottage is on the edge of Holymoorside and we used the local bus service as we didn’t have a car. The cottage has everything you need and is surrounded by beautiful countryside.

Trip to my Mothers home county
As described, a beautiful old stone cottage with the large exposed oak beams from a previous era, set close to a small stream that clearly used to power some kind of water wheel. Tranquil and yet only a few minutes drive from the all important take out curry!

Short break in the peaks
We were met by the owner Alan even though it was late in the evening when we arrived and he gave us some tips on the cottage and surrounding area. The cottage was in a very quiet area on the outskirts of the village. We had a good meal at The Bulls Head in the village. An excellent place to de-stress.

Superb!
This is our second visit and it won't be our last. Quiet, pretty, calming. A perfect spot. Shona and Allan could not be more kind. The children loved visiting the animals. It is a great location to access so much of the Peak District. Could not recommend more highly.

Excellent property for time away. You only have to look in the visitor book to see how everyone enjoys their stay. Hosts very kind and friendly. Outside table and chairs a bonus when the weather is good, with view over the stream and duck pond.
