Location, location, location is the key. Right in the heart of Chester with easy access to the Cathedral, the Castle, the race track and the town hall. The continental breakfast included in the tariff was excellent. Overall a great experience.

brilliant hotel, great location, excellent staff. only complaint was Simon Radley restaurant was fully booked so dinned in the La Brasserie which was GOOD No coffee making facility in room

Great hotel and location in the heart of Chester

Cons: Could hear noise outside rooms
Location: Went for a wedding
All excellent especially the location, rooms, beds large and very comfortable, although our room did not have a view. Food and service was very good . Doormen very helpful. The only problem was that you could hear noise outside the rooms and doors slamming. However we would return for another stays as we really enjoyed our time at this excellent hotel.

Pros: Great ambience.
Cons: As stated above certain members of staff need to be reminded why they are there.
Superb hotel with very comfortable rooms with a very good standard of finish. Food excellent. Staff well very friendly and helpful with the exception of a core of Eastern Europeans that need a course at charm school. They were arrogant, aloof and basically unhelpful. Check out on Sunday morning was more than chaotic.

There's an after bill after you paid for the room!! Parking in there own car park, paying for a hot breakfast is extra!! Your better staying in grosvner in pulford 5 miles out of town and a lot more quality for your money

Excellent position to explore Chester

Pros: The convince to the centre of Chester.
Cons: The reception staff.
Location: Right in the centre of the city. Lots to see in and around Chester & Wales.
We where disappointed that we where not helped into the hotel with our luggage and had to drag our luggage up a couple of steps. Also the breakfast menu was not explained to us which was a bit confusing as we didn't know what we where untitled to with the package. The reception staff weren't overly helpful and didn't live up to what I would class as 5 star trained. We received better service from hotels of supposedly fewer star ratings.

Me and my fiancé stayed here for our anniversary and thinking how much we paid and the rating of the hotel I would of thought we would of got more for our money, when we checked in it took over ten minutes and took them a life time to park our car in their car park, got to the room and there was a massive gap at the bottom of the door so we asked to be moved and they moved us straight away but the second room was awful old and batterd so we went back to the other room which was miles better apart from the gap in the door, the bed was so comfy and the bath room was nice but for 5 star hotel I would of expected a lot more, I would of at least wanted a room with a door that fitted properly and when I asked to move the reception team was aware of this beachside their response was it's been like that for ages, not 5 star service but oh well they can't please everyone can they, might of acted differently if I was a millionaire!

Lovely hotel, shame about the Staff & Aircon

This hotel is in a great location, is very well appointed and did / had all I'd expect of a premium hotel. Downsides were the aircon in our room didn't work, couldn't open any windows so it got a little claustrophobic and the staff, although very nice, didn't really build rapor as I'd expect of a 5* hotel. Don't think I'd stay again which is a shame because the location really is top draw.
