Hotel was close to Chester and Oulton Park .

Posted 17-Aug-2014
Pros: breakfast
Cons: see above details.
We were in room 407 which took endless time to get to with a maze of corridors. The staff in the bar were helpful but hygiene was poor, many dirty glasses were left on the bar counter for a long time. The staff behind the bar seemed very disorganised, tables were also left dirty and the clientele were very loud from a wedding. Breakfast was good which was a plus point.

Posted 13-Aug-2014
Cons: breakfast too expensive
Location: had taxis into the city..£6
My partner and I spent 3 nights at the hotel. We were upgraded to an executive room for no extra cost. room lovely and clean. ate in the restaurant on the 2nd nt..2courses and 2drinks for £20 each which was great! breakfast a bit pricey but ok..no vegetarian option though. reception staff friendly and helpful..pool and Jacuzzi an extra treat .had a lovely break and would definitely stay there again.

A FAMILY BREAK

Posted 29-Jul-2014
Pros: The swimming pool, court yard and closeness to places of interest.
Cons: The hotel signage could be improved. The hotel floor were the rooms were is a VERY large loop, shortcuts were possible but only in you knew the route
Location: Aquarium and Chester Zoo
Staff were accommodating and helpful. The hotel room was ideal for a family of four, spacious with comfortable beds. The hotel was quiet at night, even though it was of the main road. Great road links. Food nice, children especially liked the breakfast. A great plus for the children was the use of the central grass courtyard, great for running off steam. The bar staff even brought out some ball games for the children to play. Thank you. The pool was also an added bonus.

Very pleasant stay

Posted 26-Jul-2014
Pros: Staff were very good, generally well run and comfortable.
Cons: Food was fine but a tad overpriced.
Location: Very close to major routes, handy for Chester/Chester Zoo etc - for Ellesmere Port etc. Did Llandudno in about 40 mins, Chester Zoo 15mins by car.
Very pleasant stay. Staff were very efficient and friendly. Room was very comfortable. Hotel amenities quite good. A little dated on the outside but not at all bad. Very handy for Chester - bus/park and ride directly outside the hotel - convenient short drive to North Wales, Chester Zoo etc. Food was very good if a little expensive. Our daughter also loved the little swimming pool and the leisure facilities were good, clean and well run.

The hotel staff where really helpful, arranged taxi service and provided iron and ironing board immediately when requested. Breakfast was spot on, plenty of choice. Rooms super clean. Great stay I would visit again which I think says it all.

Don't eat in this hotel!

Posted 28-May-2014
Pros: See above
Cons: Free wifi and a new chef.
Staff were great, room was ok very quiet so no noise from either above or next door. Pool was good but the food was terrible. Service at breakfast was not good no tables were cleared, the staff did not ask if we wanted tea or coffee. We got there at 9 and they had run out of croissants and pastries. No 3G connection at all and WIFI costs per hour at an extortionate rate.

Excellent value choice for Chester

Posted 27-May-2014
Pros: Locatio, room size, cleanliness, good food
Cons: Bar prices
Location: Chester close by, race course, several places on interest such as gardens etc
On arrival the hotel doesn't that look appealing, beside the road and a bit 70's perhaps...but inside it's different. Everything feels of a good standard & spotlessy clean from the bar, to the restaurant to the rooms Good size rooms and nice clean bathroom. We ate in the restaurant the first night as we arrived late & had great food on a good offer deal and the breakfast was very good too and works out worth the extra money. Beware though the drinks in the bar were quite expensive. Hotel only £5 taxi to central Chester and staff were very helpful in advising where to go, ringing taxis etc. They even have a print out of local restaurants and phone numbers which was really useful We didn't use the pool so can't rate this, although it looked fairly standard...no sauna I don't think? So not a spa like experience but can't really complain Overall a great room, great price and makes for a good stay in Chester & surrounding areas

Just a fast one-night visit this trip. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Fitness center was well-equipped, and welcomed. I'll likely stay again my next trip to Chester!
