Avoid room 7
Lovely staff. Room 7 was lacking. Window in bathroom would not shut and the radiator needed bleeding and banged incessantly. We had to turn it off which also turned off the towel rail making the bathroom very chilly. No handrail to assist in getting into and out of the bath to use the shower. Lucky we bought our own non slip mat.
On checking out we were told Oh we dont use that room much so thats why the radiator was a problem!
Food was pub grub but hot and tasty.
Really nice place, the bar area was very welcoming and the food was delicious! My room was spacious and warm with a nice bathroom too. Would definitely stay here again when in the area!
Much to recommend about this accommodation. I believe it’s newly refurbished. A couple of things would make it perfect. There were no coat hangers in the room, no pillow protectors on the brand new bedding and the shower pressure was very poor. The breakfast was outstanding and the staff were fantastic.
The place was spotlessly cleaned. our only gripe was that they didn't provide a vegan breakfast and there were no extra pillows in the room. We could've probably requested one which is why I didn't say anything or mark them down for it as we had to run out and the pub was closed when we got back later that night
Check in was easy and it’s a beautiful place, lovely pup downstairs with friendly staff. I’ve fallen I love with the architecture and the outdoor seating area/garden. our room is really cozy as well as spacious 💕 the beds are really comfortable too. I’m definitely planning on coming back again someday

omf but noisy
One night stay. Pleasant staff and clean room. Not great sound proofing and despite having closed windows the pub noise outside didn’t stop til well after 11.30. Food was good in the restaurant.
Greeted by a ‘Buy 5 ciders, get the sixth free’ sign, one has a flavour of the place. The hotel is above the pub and staffed by some local zombies, who stumble around, eventually bumping into something close enough to get their attention. A spatula is required to unstick oneself from the pub floor, maintained using a technique called ‘deep litter’. Generally reserved for cows wintering in barn.
I had to telephone the pub to eventually get staff to book me in. Their deft fingers operating the keyboard like an angry chimp. Last decorated in 90’s, with second hand wall paper and furniture rejected by charity shops. Run down and bleak. Room parts falling off, faster than a leper’s fingers.
The final insult was the £83 per night price. Surely a gallon of milk would do. After all cows would be best stalled there, if one could find a crooked vet to sign it off.
Average hotel, room was clean and tidy, and bed was comfy, although it would have been good if a fan was available due to the heat, I still managed to have a half decent sleep
When i checked in and asked the manager to give me a noce room, he mockingly said that i took the last available room, hinting that it cannot be nice.
And he was right. The minuscule room was superhor m, a heater was on with full power in the bathroom, and it was inpossible to turn it off. The bed is lousy and the personnel did not even bother to probide some water.
I really do not know how this property can be on ezpedia. Try to avoid it.
Nice hotel, great beer selection. Craft and cask ales. Gorgeous sitting area outside, nice bar area. Rooms are pretty decent, very reasonable room prices. Lovely area and plenty parking outside.
I have stayed here several times and have always found the staff helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfast. Comfortable room. Good selection of beers.

Wedding day guest
Friendly welcome, comfy bed, pub full from after work until closing, family atmosphere, super pasta dinner, good red wine, limited whiskies, fire and lots to eat at breakfast, 2 newspapers, and they ordered me a decent taxi to the wedding.
After a very hectic and depressing day we arrived at the said hotel, my husband and I
Were in need of a very stiff drink, when we opened the door of the Hotlel it was a WOW
It as warm welcoming and the Christmas decorations were beautiful wonderful we immediately felt uplifted
The carpets into the accommodation and the stairs was disgusting. The area not threadbare was dirty. The bath end was splintered. The loo was too close to the bath. The toilet brush was something else - broken and full of faeces. The bed was too small and we only had one very soft pillow each. The bed was like sleeping in a marshmallow. The double glazing was blown and smelt of damp. On the positive side, the bedding was lovely as were the curtains. I would not stay again.
I have stayed here several times and have always felt that it offers excellent value for money. Rooms are comfortable and they provide a good selection of toiletries, drink and biscuit choices in the room. I have found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.Bar area is good and offers a good selection of beers.
