“This hotel is an embarassment to Expedia and Ramada”
Hotel is being remodeled. Should not call the hotel a 3 star until they have remodeled it. It currently is a dump.

“Maintenance was extremely poor”
The hot water did not work at all 1st day and when I turned on the hot water nasty brown water came out of both the sink and shower. There were even spider legs in the nasty brown water that came out of the sink. Aslo EXpedia should note to travelers that the hotel charges $6 a day to park anywhere at the hotel.
“Nice spot in downtown Charleston!”
I have stayed here several times over the past couple years and have never had any problems. The location was ideal for me being close to the Capitol Street bars, and the restaurants at the mall. In the summers they have free concerts friday nights at the bandshell on the river directly in front of this hotel!
“Charleston Downtown Ramada Sucks”
Stains on the floors, walls and curtains. Reservations for 4 people in the room (2 adults and 2 kids) they gave us 3 sets of towels. I called the front desk and the sent the 4th set of towels up and the porter stood there waiting for a tip. The maid serivce clean the room the next day and again only 3 sets of towels. The hotel was in a general state of disrepair. Elevator buttons didn't work, charged 6 dollars a day for parking when their website said free parking.
“Charleston Hotel great location”
The Hotel needs many updates it is old. However the staff was very nice . We had an extemely had time getting ahold of the Hotel but later found out that they has the phones hit by lightening. My only complaint was they had a convention of AA members there. Well the vice given up was taken up by smoking and the smokes stood right in the front of the Hotel and everytime we came in and out the doors we were slapped in the face by cigarette smoke. They need to get a different area for the smokes or move the conference room to the side of the Hotel and have a door there that people can come in and out...
