“Very nice hotel, everything there for your convenience.”

I was staying there due to my husband being admitted to the hospital due to an emergency. I was by myself and the staff made me feel safe and were very accomodating. Very friendly people. Services were convenient, lounge, etc. being on-site, made it very secure. I thought the hotel was just as nice as any high end hotel I have every stayed at. Would highly reccommend it to anyone visiting Charleston.

“nice stay”

We came to the hotel for a wedding reception and decided to stay over for the convenience of not having to drive home late. We simply parked our car in the hotel garage and were able to enjoy our evening. We didn't have to worry about bad weather because the garage was covered. The reception room was beautiful and the meal was great. We were very satisfied with the check in and check out process. It was quick and friendly. Our room was very clean and the bed was extremely confortable. We even ate the buffet breakfast downstairs the next morning and were pleasantly surprised by the big selection of food items.

“Acceptable but not outstanading”

This hotel was comfortable but no exceptional service or cleanliness. There was also a hole in the wall of our room so maintenance seems minimal.

“Not Impressed”

The shower head was messed up. It was spraying water all over the ceiling and walls. The room was very hot, and the thermostat was not working. This hotel was not up tp Marriott standards.

“Almost Heaven, West Virginia”

We miss home. Have nothing but great things to say about Marriott @ Town Center. The quietest hotel in which I have ever stayed ---I am a light sleeper! Loved the older houses in neighborhood. Wish I could have seen the river from my window. My husband and I laugh every time we hear the name Kanawha--it was once mispronounced by the great Walter Cronkite as Kan' a wha. I have never had warm feelings for Charleston but this trip changed my mind.

Area recommendations

Downtown Charleston. Great for walking. Try one of the 60's diners. We ate at Blossom Diner. My husband's parents met there.

Other

West Virginia State Capital--the top of which it covered with gold leaf. The beautiful hills, trees, and rivers.

The friendliness & professionalism of the staff from the front desk to restaurant to housekeeping was outstanding! Best, most enjoyable stay I've ever had in Charleston!

“Not Impressed”

Nice Hotel, Over-priced. Had to pay extra to park in thier garage, had to pay extra for Wi-FI, Breakfast was not included. Could hear my neighbors easily even when they were just talking.
