The shuttle to downtown Charleston was great! The staff were super helpful and nice. The breakfast was great and the view was wonderful. I slept very comfortably :)

It was the closest hotel to the people I was visiting on James Island. The interior walls and floors were tired; there was no sound insulation between rooms; my room had a dripping shower ceiling, lumpy pillows (no soft one available), and the door had to be yanked to close, as it wasn’t aligned correctly to the door frame.

Not so close to center but they do offer a shuttle. Parking in the center is a hassle. Do that was good.

Great view and access to Charleston and the beautiful surrounding areas. The rooms are small and a bit outdated. The bar and restaurant are a great view but the food is average.

Tired looking facility in need of updates. No ice in any ice machines; only one elevator was in service, making for long delays getting anywhere (we were on the 9th floor); our room door wouldn’t open despite numerous key exchanges; heat would not work. Maintenance man was very prompt to arrive and fix the heat, but could not fix the door (no parts available). On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable and we had a nice view.

During our three night stay, we never had hot water for showers. The water we did have barely trickled out of the shower head. It was difficult to even wash the shampoo out of my hair. We nicely reported the lack of hot water to the front desk, and she responded, “I’ll look into it.” That was it. The floors were sticky, and we had to immediately put on socks after getting out of the shower, keeping them on at all times to avoid sticking to the floor. Out of the two available elevators, only one worked. The “working” elevator took forever, constantly bumping, rattling, and shaking. The “balcony”, advertised on their description, was unable to access due to being bolted shut. There was no water in the pool, also advertised on the description. We spoke with multiple employees at the desk in regard to no hot water, but the issue was never resolved. Taking a cold shower isn’t fun, but when it’s already in the 40s at night, and adding no water pressure and trickling shower head, the elongated shower to get the shampoo out of your hair is even more miserable. I’ve never written a review at all, much less a negative review, but when spending almost $800.00 for a three night stay for our 25th anniversary, I don’t want others to make the same mistake we did.

Best riverview ever. We were on the 9th floor and could be in our bed and watch the water and the bridge traffic. Beautiful at night. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. This is an older hotel but very nice. Would definitely stay here again!

Staff at the front door seemed irritated. Parking lot seems a bit disheveled and the room needs some serious attention. Wall-mounted AC unit is falling off with black dust in between the cracks of the wall and the unit. Room feels damp and has a damp smell. The restaurant looks nice though.

We stayed primarily because it had a restaraunt that was open until 9pm. We waited at the desk with another couple for roughly 20 minutes and were never acknowledged. The hotel itself was clean with a great view and the desk clerk was very friendly.

Exiting property with your vehicle is dangerous. Terrible blind spots. Hotel is clean but dated. Restaurant was a nice options and you waiter was extremely attentive and kind. Hotel is flanked by hiway on both sides causing room to be quite noisy.

Very average, old feeling hotel. Lots of stuff just painted over, rusty, with squeaky beds. Walls are paper thin, you can hear every single vehicle that goes by (that is absolutely NOT an exaggeration). We were excited for the lounge, and restaurant upstairs. That is also very average, and the foods all seems microwaveable. The staff however, were fantastic. The location is good, and has pretty views.

Can't wait to stay here again.
We got off our cruise early and went straight to the hotel to drop off our luggage. The front desk staff were amazing. They let us keep our luggage in their back office until the room was ready. I did use the restroom in the front lobby and I thought it was beautiful and very clean. We were going to spend some time on Market St. and have lunch. We're about to request a Lyft when the front desk informed us that they have a shuttle that would take us there. This was an unexpected perk that made us happy. The shuttle driver dropped us off and said that he would be there to pick us up at quarter to the hour every hour from 9:00 a.m. till 10:00 p.m. After we had lunch we got a phone call that our room was ready and we returned back. After getting our luggage and our room card we went up to the 14th floor. We were staying in a king suite with a view. Upon opening the door my mouth dropped open. This was a huge and beautiful room. So nicely decorated and very comfortable. We could not wait to take a nap in the giant bed with the pillow top. It was so comfortable that we almost missed our 7:30 p.m. Ghost tour. Front desk people in the afternoon and evening were just amazing. The gentleman who checked us out at 4:30 in the morning was hilarious and in great spirits for that early in the morning. We cannot wait to come back to Charleston and stay here. Why pay top dollar to stay in downtown when you can stay here and get more bag for your buck not to mention free shuttle rides.

I liked the reasonable price of the room & the location. The hotel itself could use some updating. While the beds were comfortable & the linens appeared to be clean - the floors were grimy and definitely needed a good mop. The bathroom counters also needed a good wipe down as well as the bathroom. The TVS volume wouldn’t go any lower than 8 - which was pretty loud in my opinion. The telephone wouldn’t work at all - no dial tone, was just overall kind of sketchy.

Out trip to Charleston
We had planned to stay 2 nights sightseeing Charleston. However, on Friday the first day of our stay, We received a phone call stating our home had been broken into and items were missing. We had to pack in a hurry and out of the hotel Jamie who was on the front desk made our check out simple and when we asked for a refund for our unused night, she said we had booked with a 3rd party and would have to call them. Upon getting home, I did just that and telling them my story. They in turn called the hotel and they symphyied with us .They refunded our unused night. I give them 5 stars Jamie was a huge help
