We just came back from Alacati beach resort where we spent 4 nights last week. Our reservations were for a room in the windsurfer inn, which is the worst part of the hotel. Not knowing what that part of the hotel was exactly, we discovered that it's a motel-like section in the back and outside of the hotel. The room smelled sewage and poop. After a few minutes in the room, we went to complain and ask for a better room. We were told that if we want to be in the main hotel section, we would have to add 500€ a night for a suite or €50 for a double with 2 extra beds. We had no other option than to accept the double room and be cramped in there with our 2 teens. The staff and manager were never helpful in giving us any info about the area. Almost no one on the property spoke English except for a few words. The beach guy was very aggressive with keeping the best chairs to some special clients. 90%of the clients were Turkish people., maybe that's why the staff didn't care much about tourists. They seemed kind of surprised to see tourists there, telling us that there is nothing there to see, until some customers from the hotels explained to us that the Alacati village is 5 km away and we can reach it by a regular city shuttle for just 3 liras. The village is gorgeous and Alacati is a great destination for windsurfing. The locals were all very nice and welcoming except for the hotel staff. Would never want to return to that resort.
