We booked a suite for a family more than a month in advance. When we arrived we were told that there was some computer mix- up in the previous day and the suite is unavailable. We were offered instead a room with extra bedding for the second generation, (obviously for a lower price than that of the suite). we had to accept because we had no alternative arrangements. We came to the room at 3 PM, and it was not made. So we were asked to wait for a few hours till the room was cleaned. They gave us a 500 Czech crowns (about 20$) coupon for the restaurant and a bottle of caramel syrup (sic!) as compensation. Thank you very much... In the evening when we returned the room was made, though some of the towels were not clean. The room was on the first floor, just above the restaurant that closed only at midnight. Obviously, it was not easy to sleep because of the noise and it was a warm night, so we had to keep the windows open.
The location is very good at the center of Cesky Krumlov. The nineteenth century style interior decoration is in good taste and fitting the location and old building. Breakfast was very nice, the woman in charge was very friendly and helpful, especially to children. But obviously, the management of this hotel needs to get its act together and establish some reliability with its customers before they can expect repeat visitations and recommendations.
