More of a stately home than a palace, this hotel benefits from very pleasant wife/husband operators, pretty and spacious rooms and modern bathroom, also little extra of kettle in our room. However, we discovered that, apparently like other expensive French country hotels, we were forbidden to bring food into the room, or even on the patio, a practice no doubt intended to oblige guests to consume only the very pricey dinners and breakfasts. And the menu was quite limited too. This hotel is far from any other commercial establishments, there is no place to walk to and, no fault of the owners, virtually no nourishment was available on a Sunday afternoon in the nearby largish town of Blois. I'd recommend this place only for an overnight, any longer might seem isolated, overly restricted, even somewhat uncomfortable.
