Good Location

Pros: The location, nice breakfast room
Cons: Improve the amenities (like facial tissue), have the staff more available. Just because it's old doesn't mean it can't be upgraded.
Location: D-day beaches and museums
Pros: walking distance to town, lovely grounds, nice breakfast, free Wi-Fi Cons: tiny room, no amenities, staff not always there, no ice machine We spent most of our time touring the area and not much in the room because it was so cramped. It has a good location for seeing the D-Day beaches and Bayeux.

Did a tour of Normandy and this was a great place to start. Central to all the ww2 sites and many of the Norman castles.

Tres bien, lovely little place.

It's a lovely place, you get a very warm greeting from the owner Luc and a letter explaining the renovations that will be taking place shortly. Breakfast is good if you enjoy a continental breakfast. Arromanches is a short walk from the hotel and it's also a great base for all the world war 2 sights. When booking, it would be best to talk to the owner in regards to which room you would like as there are only stairs in the main building (no lift) and with heavy luggage, it may be a problem.

Sub-standard hotel

Pros: Chose it for location...and that is the only thing it has going for itself.
Cons: See above.
Location: The location was very good, near to the Normandy beaches.
This hotel displayed real deferred maintenance. The owner is not keeping up with needed repairs. The worst problem was mold. There was mold on the walls and on the ceiling of our room. There was also mold growing around a door to the garden in the breakfast room. When I spoke to a staff member about this, she said that she could not scrub it off. I told her that the mold had to be killed with a bleach solution, not just scrubbed. This appeared to be new information to her. I asked to speak with the owner, but was told that person was not there. The plumbing was also antiquated. The bathroom was not clean and the toilet seat needed to be tightened up. It moved way to the side when one sat upon it, very bad situation for a person with back problems.

Charming old building in great location!

Pros: Its character and charm.
Cons: The room renovations and updates in the outer buildings need to be completed.
Location: Great location near the British museum and Gold Beach.
The rooms were small and needed some TLC but clean and the most comfortable mattresses and pillows of anywhere we stayed. The common areas were lovely and having the outside terrace area added to our enjoyment. It was within walking distance of town and we were surprised at all the history there that we were not aware of. Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful small bnb type hotel

We had a great stay at this hotel. The location is great with a short walk to the beach and restaurants. The beds were great and breakfast was beautiful, staff were refined but friendly and helpful. We had four beds in our room for our family which made it abit squishy, but if you are a couple the room size would have been generous. One simple thing to improve the room would've to raise the shower head, it's a hand shower so it's not a great problem, but it's just too low.
