Beautiful house - Ideally located

Posted 18-Aug-2014
Pros: The location is perfect for visiting the D-Day beaches.
Cons: Nothing should be changed.
Location: D-Day exhibitions.
The hotel is beautiful French house on the edge of the town. Very comfortable with well appointed rooms and very friendly staff. It is perfect for visiting the D-Day beaches and Bayeaux, which is only 5 miles away. My family are already badgering me to take them back there.

Convenient location

Posted 15-Aug-2014
Pros: Character, staff
Cons: Room layouts, tho they are working on this.
Location: Castles, beaches, restaurants all good
Stayed to visit Arromanches beaches, convenient location, pleasant hotel, reception and bar area lovely, rooms very small but clean tho bathrooms in need of revamp, think this is a work in progress. Owners terrific! We wish them well with their future plans, all said good value for money! They were busy and ran out of croissants n pastries at breakfast. :(

Google location,hotel being upgraded

Lovely welcome, great looking hotel and has that French 2star quirkiness that we love. Breakfast excellent and public rooms were great. Bedrooms clean and fine but a bit tired- we loved our stay.

Nice hotel close to town

Posted 19-Jun-2014
Pros: It was close to the town and beach. Nice lobby to enjoy beverages.
Cons: Control the mold and mildew in the room.
Location: Tour the D Day Museum, the 360 D Day presentation, walk the beach, visit the American Cemetery.
The staff was accomodating. Very nice. Our room was in an adjacent building to the main one. It was small. Hard to move around in it. There was mildew on some of the walls.

Location, Location, Location A Work in Progress

Posted 14-Jun-2014
Pros: The location is minutes from the town center and Gold beach. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Rooms clean and functional.
Location: To really understand the D-Day invasion I would highly recommend you get a private full day tour.
We arrived June 8th, two days after the official commemoration of the 70th anniversary of D-Day. Once we found our hotel we were able to park our car and easily walk to the beach and center of town within minutes avoiding traffic and parking issues. The gentleman who owns the hotel, a fluent English speaking Frenchman, bought the property a little over a year ago. This property is in transition. An adjoining building next to the villa is scheduled for remodel and refurbishment this coming year with plans to have the villa go through the same in the future. He wants the hotel to obtain a three star rating upon completion. As it is currently is, yes, it could use a little face lift yet is is clean, comfortable and all facilities in good working order.

less than expected

Posted 08-May-2014
Pros: good grounds and at some point after refurb is complete it will be very nice. Very near to the beach and had good parking.
Cons: Decoration, rooms needed redecoration and a kettle plus brew making materials would help
Location: Very close to the amenities that were in demand e.g. museums etc
The hotel was very well situated but unfortunately still in the process of refurbishment. That meant the rooms were not yet upgraded so the ensuite was quite small and poor. I've since learned from a friend that small ensuite rooms in France are quite common but sitting on the loo resembling Quasimodo is not my idea of acceptable. Moving from "Economy" to an upgrade really meant just paying more money for very little extra benefits. The staff and personnel at the hotel were good and helpful but we felt we overpaid for rooms that were not described appropriately with no pictures of the ensuite area so the pics on the internet did not include the very cramped toilet and shower that meant to wash at the basin required the door to be open or be compressed against the sink!

LOVELY SETTING

Posted 08-May-2014
Very courteous, professional management. I spoke to the owner and he is planning upgrades to the rooms and property but my wife and I just appreciated the lovely property and kind staff. We were quite comfortable and we could see the potential of this hotel.

Accommodation is average, small rooms, a bit old but quaint and comfortable, close to town and restaurants
