“Never will return”
Service was very poor and not accomidating!
“Very Nice Stay”
Was over all satisfied however, the beds were not made for our last nite's stay.
“Very good service”
The hotel is centrally located in the downtown area and within walking distance to the shopping centre. Very helpful service and we even had free coffee and cakes ready for us at reception before the shuttle arrived to take us to the airport.
“Best bet downtown for dollar value”
We like it because it's laid back, well located and price effective. picked up people at the more pricey hotels and found the staff at those hotels pretty aggresive, the ramada has a more relaxed atmosphere but security was good enough but not over the top.
“Old hotel...Was not impressed with staff”
This is an older hotel. Front desk staff gave me a room on check-in and then I went out for a few hours. On return, my key would not work and after waiting in a line up at the counter, I was advised that I was given the wrong room? They advised I could stay in the room in any case and re-programmed my key. I don't know if I was upgraded or downgraded. There was no coffee machine in the room contrary to the webpage claim of having one in every room. I was originally advised that the guest parking downstairs was full and I would have to park the next block over for $32.00 per night. Just before leaving I was advised that a spot had come open and I was able to park downstairs for $15.75. Be aware that once you put your car down there, you cannot get it out until the following morning! If you decide to leave, they will not guarantee a spot when you return....so you might end up paying across the street. When I checked out I called the number provided for over an hour and only got a busy signal. I finally called the front desk and she said, you should go down there and find the parking attendant.....nice. Next time, pay more money for a hotel that includes free parking.
“ramadan calgary tired”
This hotel is in need of refurbishment and a radical change of management. I have never stayed at a hotel of this supposed quality where the main and only resteraunt is closed on a saturday and sunday evening and guestes are expected to use a dingy dark rundown pub to obtain a meal. The time we spent there the room service menus were out of date and the general management is out of touch with the modern needs of guests
“Satisfactory Hotel ... sorry for the negativity”
Stayed with wife and son. Beds are small so unless both that share bed are small and need the extra warmth of the other person, this is just not going to cut it if you want a good night sleep. Due to the noises from the pool and the bar crowds during the night, along with the loud banging water pipes and a small bed, did not get much sleep. Called front desk in morning asking about the pipes and was told it was normal. They gave us free parking in compensation. Also, television had a horrible picture and the balcony filthy with stains on door and the concrete. It was a Saturday night and everything closed by six, so if you do not want to drive but want to get out....limited things to do with a family. However, if you are able to have own bed, wear ear plugs, stay off the balcony and not watch television it is a good stay. Staff were friendly and polite.
“Terrible”
Don't go to this dump.
“Perfect Location for Stampede”
Comfortable stay for the duration of our visit. While it was not cheap, it was comparable to the surrounding hotels during this event. Close to subway, cab stand out front and the lounge downstairs had entertainment all weekend as we were coming and going. What more do you need during the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.
“Has its pros and cons”
Nice hotel with great service and cleaniness. Location right downtown has it's pros and cons. Pros are that you are minutes away from Stephen's Ave (predestrian walk), Calgary Tower, Bow Valley Museum and many places to eat. You are also close to all roads out of town (ie to Banff). The Cons are that you hear too much noice at night; expecially when the bars let out and if the hotel is holding a nightly function you hear every beat of the music. Because the hotel is surrounded by tall buildings, any cop siren, motorbike or racing car sound is amplified. Unless you are a sound sleeper or are ready to pass out, you may want to consider a hotel not so close to the city centre.
