“never ever book same hotel again”
I could not sleep all night b/c all guests were too loud and drunk and the people in charge never care.
“not impressed”
Jets not working in hot tub No shower curtain in room Front desk person did not appear to be interested when given feedback
“Don't Bother with This One”
We found this hotel to be an exercise in frustration. It was mediocre for the most part, nothing glaringly awful by any means. I picked it at the last minute because of location and price. We stayed one night and over the course of 18 hours or so we experienced a number of minor irritations - e.g. no ice machines, no jets in the hot tub, no towels by the pool, ... We could put up with some of this stuff but when we raised them we got mostly bad attitude from staff (restaurant and front desk) including a manager. What topped it all off was a very nice young fellow at check out time asking me how my stay was. I hesitated at first, didn't want to sound petty and frankly I never trust these are genuine requests for feedback, but then I was honest and said it wasn't great and I'm not sure I'd come back. Good guy, did the right thing, was apologetic and asked if there was anything he could do to right the wrongs. When he saw it was booked with Expedia he said there was nothng they could possibly do. I reminded him the Best Western is a huge company and Expedia is certainly not the only option they have for helping customers. He then went back to a manager and discuss the issues I raised and returned a few minutes later with nothing and implying that I could have done more to find ice, etc. The manager in question peaked out so I directed my comments to him: don't ask if you don't want to know or aren't prepared to do anything about the feedback!!!
“Typical Best Western”
Not big on frills, but fine for the price. Excellent location for walking to bus, train, or restaurants. Unlike most hotels, didn't supply hair conditioner, or pen and paper. Luckily there's a convenience store nearby.
“Excellent hotel”
I liked the room and I will definitely go back
“Good so long as you don't forget your glasses there!”
The hotel was great as usual, however, after we checked out at 7 a.m. and drove 3 hours home I realized that I had left my prescription glasses in the bathroom on checkout. I knew that another family was staying in the city until 9 p.m. or so and called the hotel at 6 p.m., hoping that I could get them picked up. I was put to voicemail and got no return call. I called them again in the morning and eventually got a call back from housekeeping stating that they had the glasses and was I going to pick them up. I replied that I lived 3 hours away and there was no offer to send them to me (I would have paid the cost gladly as I had only one pair of glasses and desperately needed them). I was able to arrange for a friend to pick them up in a week or so, somewhat disappointed. Also, the lounge was filling up with gymnastics coaches and judges at 9 p.m, yet the bartender served a bunch of "last call" drinks at 9:45 p.m., then promptly kicked everyone out og the lounge at 10 p.m., not giving anyone time to finish their drinks. A person at our table was told he could "take the drink to his room. I don't care". They could have made some oney that evening, but did not.
“not impressed”
I been going to this hotel for the last 16 years every time I went to Calgary, but I was not impress with the staff service when I had issues.
“Always stay here”
The breakfast in this motel is really good. The beds are comfortable. Make sure to put the "do not disturb" sign out as the maid is quite persistant with her knocking.
“Good time in Calgary”
Great hotel. A bit loud around the pool....Center pool surounded bu 5 stories of brick! Resturaunt food was also above expectations Very close to lots of resturaunts. Central location
“Good hotel for price paid”
The hotel is not easy to find. Once we found it, we really enjoyed it. It was our best hotel in a 7 day trip
