Staff without exception were welcoming, attentive and very friendly. We had breakfast and dinner in the restaurant, both were very good and dinner particularly was superb. Bedroom was ok, the skirting boards were dusty and could do with a more thorough clean. Pillows are awful, far too soft.
What a great hotel! I wasn't expecting much, but was blown away by their professionalism, friendliness and attention to detail. I booked two rooms, one for my uncle who was visiting from the US and joining me on a trip to Normandy. Even he (as Americans are notorious Customer service experts), commented just how great it was. If I'm ever in the area, I would def stay again. Great touches - free wifi, paper, water and FRESH milk for drinks in room. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.

This hotel is above a bar/restaurant. It is a short taxi ride from the bus and train stations and walking distance to cruise port. Staff are friendly, food was good, and breakfast was included. Not too noisy. Comfortable, clean and reasonably priced.

This charming inn, with its thatched roof, superb food and comfortable rooms provided us with a convenient and enjoyable 'pit stop' in the midst of a couple of days of cycling in the beautiful New Forest. Even though the Pilgrim Inn is part of a hotel chain, the staff were very friendly and the menu was full of fresh and interesting local produce. The 'olde worlde' charm runs from exposed timber and the open fire in the restaurant to angled ceiling in our 'attic' bedroom with its attractive furnishings and decor. Unfortunately, we bumped our heads a couple of times on the ceiling and we'd have liked a functioning extractor fan in the windowless bathroom.

The Hotel Mercure has always been my hotel of choice in Southampton. This time I was upgraded and the room was so comfortable, warm and very quiet. It made my stay extra special. As usual, the staff were most helpful and the food was excellent.
We stayed for one night to attend a party night elsewhere so didn't experience the restaurant. The room was large, clean, modern and well equipped. We had room service breakfast that arrived promptly and exactly as ordered. Staff on check in and check out were efficient and helpful.
