Easy Stay

This place suited our needs perfectly - it was inexpensive and clean. We were able to use free wifi in the lobby and the staff arranged for a cab to the airport for us.

Unhelpful staff, was not a personal experience.

We arrived after a long day of travel and all we wanted to do was shower and grab dinner as soon as possible. The first room we were checked into did not have running water. We were moved into another room next door that had a broken shower fixture so we had to hold the shower head the entire time. Could be worse and we tried to be good natured about it, but what really got to us was that the hotel staff was not helpful at all (i.e., knowledgable) about recommendations nearby for laundry, tango lessons, or to help us make an international call (re a lost ATM card so sort of urgent). These I assumed were pretty standard tourist questions. The staff just seemed cold and removed, which went along with the modern ambiance the hotel was trying to embrace. On the other hand, when we stayed at a cozy, clean and charming hotel just next door (Hotel Arribo) when passing through the first time, the owner Martin, was incredibly helpful and friendly. We made a mistake and should have just stayed at Hotel Arribo again but we had booked in advance thinking we wanted to try a few that looked good to us online. Remember that San Telmo does not provide breakfast either.

Great place, especially at reduced rate

Posted 31-Mar-2014 on Hotels.com
I got a great rate through hotels.com that made it easy to enjoy. The only hitch was that they tried to charge for wifi in the room, saying it was only free in the lobby. When I showed them the hotels.com, where it specifically had free wifi in the room description, they relented, but would have been nicer not to have to argue for it....

good for San Telmo

San Telmo is a nice area and this hotel is well placed in it. The staff are very helpful and speak good English. The lobby is more impressive than the rooms.

quiet location close to old San Telmo

Posted 16-Feb-2014 on Hotels.com
We thought San Telmo was the classic old part of town. This is true. The hotel was within walking distance of many great restaurants, parks, places to watch tango and browse. On weekends a lot of the small streets become markets with endless rows of stands and people selling just about everything a tourist might want, from antiques to souvenirs, food to clothing. Many of the older sites to see are within walking distance. The elevators needed some work as they were not functioning properly but thankfully we were on the second floor. The beds were firm and great. The staff was very friendly and most helpful, including assisting us with safe currency exchange. Breakfast included was across the street which is a little inconvenient and the fair was limited but acceptable.

Stunning Hotel

Beauitful reception area....Fashionable bedroom. Very peaceful hotel with very little noise from traffic which my room overlooked the road in and excellent location. Guy on reception very helpful and informative. Only minor downfall was there was no hot water for 2 nights. When I checked out they did apologise saying is was a problem outside the hotel in the area. It would have been nice if I did not have to pay for one bottle of water I had out out the room bar as an apology. Nevertheless it did not spoil the visit.
