Nice hotel ; spacious room. Lousy view

Nice hotel ; horrible view though out theback of a very scruffy car park. Awoke to the sounds of rubbish being put in the bins. Room was spacious and clean although I think it will need some refurb next year ie tile grouting.

Great Location...staff not so much.

Posted 17-May-2015
Pros: Location.
Cons: Courtesy and respect from reception staff.
Location: Good range of pubs and restaurants nearby. Close to shops and directly on the river. 3Brothers Burgers excellent for lunch and just outside.
Despite being soaked, and my partner having having just landed on her back after tripping over slippery cobbles outside the hotel they were unable to check us in 50 minutes early. A gum-chewing receptionist didn't exactly inspire confidence at check in either. Not very professional at all. Room was quite spacious and the location was excellent. The room was very stuffy, with NO link between the thermostat and the "fan". I say fan as after we asked for the temperature to be adjusted, we were told there was nothing wrong with it, it wasn't actually air con and we would just have to put up with it. Again, poor service. We couldn't even open the window as there was some crazy drum-lead interpretive dance going on on the rooftop directly outside our room for both nights until close to 10pm.

Pros: Location, decor and pleasant staff. Free minibar drink and chocolate bar. Coffee machine.
Cons: Cleanliness.
Location: Excellent location. River boat restaurant in front of the hotel served excellent food.
Pleasant one night stay. Was upgraded. Was sent to wrong floor. Room had not been properly cleaned as I found a large bowl of dirty water behind the curtain. Everything else about the stay was good and I would recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel close to the town for shopping.

Posted 29-Mar-2015
Pros: The hotel was very clean and tidy. We had a lovely stay. The room and bathroom was very clean.
Cons: The noise from outside could be made quieter.
Location: The location was very good. The town is with in a ten minute walk.
We had a room with a view over looking the river Avon the view was lovely. We were with in walking distance of the market and about a ten minute walk from Bristol town centre. There was some noise from the pub on the corner and people could be noisy on there way home into the early hours.

ok hotel in a good position, but expensive

Posted 23-Mar-2015
Pros: Location is good
Cons: price, and staff enthusiasm
Location: on the harbourside, theatte dining sightseeing
Booked this hotel for long weekend away because we could not get into The Bristol. Good position and generally ok, but staff were a bit casual and it was expensive and has no parking. In addition, the booking was room only and breakfast would have been £16.95! Clearly one for expense account guests. Taking into account parking costs and breakfast, it would be £100 more for three nights than comparable hotels in Bristol Centre

Very good hotel

I booked two single rooms for an overnight stay for my daughter and myself. The room was very good and well appointed although my daughter found her bed a little hard as she has a back problem. We had a very nice lunch in the bar and we found all the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel is not far from the Bristol Hippodrome and the Colston Hall. I would certainly recommend a stay here and would not hesitate to stay again.
