Great Stay

Posted 08-Sep-2014
Pros: Location and friendly staff.
Cons: Cleanliness of the room.
Location: Great location near shopping centre and harbour-side for great nights outs, also for the small markets, no need to use the car which was great.
My friend and myself stayed here for 2 nights and loved the hotel and the great location, with its closed proximity to the shopping centre the great nightlife at the harbour-side. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful and checking in and out was also very smooth, the only small thing that could have been done better was the cleanliness of the room, which we felt could have been improved. This would not put me off returning or recommending this hotel to my friends as we did have a great stay.

Brigstow has it all.

Posted 24-Aug-2014
Pros: We liked the walking-distance location to many points of interest and entertainment, its cleanliness and friendliness.
Cons: Nothing!
Location: Just a short ferry or cab ride from the rail station. Taxis, when booked, are on time. Pubs, restaurants and theaters are a short walk away.
The Brigstow is a lovely hotel located right on the canal. We arrived from the train via ferry (like a Venetian gondola!) with the stop right outside the door. A tour boat was also able to stop there. The room was quiet and well-appointed. We reunited with friends there are were undisturbed as we sat long in restaurants and lobby. The meals in the hotel were excellent with a wonderful breakfast buffet and gourmet dinner.

Great position and good standard all round.

Posted 08-Aug-2014
Pros: The facilities were good - the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The fridge and free wi fi were a bonus. The staff were pleasant and helpful.
Location: Central and close to a multitude of eating places and attractions. Its easy to get to Bath which we did for 2 days of our stay and worth the effort.
Our stay was enjoyable and the hotel, its facilities and location was a large part of this.

Excellent hotel in ideal location

Posted 04-Aug-2014
Pros: Central location
Cons: Nothing
Location: Close to the centre, walking distance to everywhere we wished to visit
We found the hotel staff very friendly and helpful through out our stay. We were given a superior room which was very spacious. Breakfast was buffet style with tea coffee and toast brought to the table. The waiting staff were very attentive asking if we needed more toast and drinks. Can't think of any negatives.

One night stay room

Posted 27-Jul-2014
Pros: It's good location , welcoming staff.
Location: Good restaurants, very near King Street with live music from various pubs including old Duke, st. Nicholas market nearby. Easy reach from shops .
A very good centrally located hotel, welcoming, clean very friendly staff, had a room on front couldn't really get view of river because of trees but very nice room. We parked in car park next door and walked everywhere we needed easil. Woul recommend and would choose again.

lovely hotel

Posted 21-Jul-2014
Pros: The price and location 10 minutes walk from cabot circus,
Cons: Rooms with a joining door need the door to be soundproof.
Location: The apple boat which sells nothing but ciders between 20 - 30 different varieties
The hotel was excellent value for money, the staff were very helpful and polite, the room and breakfast were excellent ours was included in the room price, would not of paid £16.50 each for breakfast. Our room no.411 was clean and cool as the air con was exceptional, tile vision in bathroom so you could lie in the bath and watch television, check out was midday and breakfast was served until midday aswell. We were visiting Bristol for the harbour festival.

Nice hotel near centre BUT

Posted 17-Jul-2014
Pros: clean, quite, nice location
Cons: number of staff in reception at busy times!
Location: right in the centre of Bristol lots of things like open air bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity, but quiet at night for sleeping
Nice hotel near city centre but confusing/difficult to find due to their being two Mercure hotels in the centre of Bristol, also of far more importance only one member of staff on duty behind reception, it may be OK during the day when not much is happening but it is totally unacceptable in the morning when people want to check out. I had to walk out and simply leave my key card as I had a train to catch the the one receptionist was on a long ongoing conversation with someone trying to cancel a booking! One of the two lifts was also not working, inconvenient but nothing the hotel staff could do much about but I'm afraid that having back up in the morning, even temporary, is something that the hotel could do something about.
