Lovely and welcoming staff. The room was cosy and well decorated with excellent facilities. Location perfect and actually had a view! Price very affordable when booked in advance. Will definitely use again.

Bristol Center

Posted 22-Jun-2015
Pros: Quiet room with comfortable bed and very central to Bristol nightlife. Great staff.
Cons: Getting a bit tired in the common areas. Heading toward a refit if it is to keep up the standard
Location: Excellent location within 10 minutes walk of the downtown night life , museums etc
We arrived in the early evening and were processed very quickly through reception. I had requested a quiet room and got one on the top floor facing the back of the hotel. It overlooked a car park and the back of the some offices. Not much to look at but quiet enough for a good night sleep. The room was very well furnished with flat screen tv, fridge etc with free wi-fi which is always a bonus. The bed was comfortable and the room serviced daily. The hotel is very well situated and close to all of the Bristol night life. Outside is quite lively until 12 pm . I am not sure if a room at the front of the hotel would be as quiet. We did not eat or drink in the hotel . There are plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance if you need the variety. The staff that we met were pleasant and helpful. I did feel that the common areas including the lift looked a bit tired and were in need of a deep clean but there was nothing frightful. I would use this accommodation again

wonderful location for visiting the theatre

Posted 30-May-2015
Pros: walking distance to the hippodrome theatre
Cons: wardrobe space not very big
Location: a real hub of activity with cool bars, theatre, shopping and restaurants
staff friendly and efficient nothing too much trouble. Hotel lovely only downside there isn't much wardrobe space if your're staying for more than a couple of nights. Hotel faces the river with a quaint restaurant barge opposite. Best location for the city centre with local bars, restaurants and theatres in close proximity to the hotel. Hotel quiet and comfortable wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

Good central location, needs more facilities

Posted 27-May-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Facilities
Location: Central, close to nice restaurants (Glassboat) and the bars/pubs on King Street,
A great hotel with fantastic staff BUT I would expect a gym for a 4* hotel and other little touches that would make it live up to the lovely lobby and surroundings.

Good hotel, great location but staff let the place

Posted 25-May-2015
Pros: Many things, location, the comfortable rooms, a very good breakfast, the size of the hotel, not too big to be impersonal but also not too small.
Cons: Train the staff a bit more, take them to a excellent high end hotel so they can see how it should be done. Get the car arrival sorted out.
Location: Its right in the middle of town, you can walk everywhere, just walk and you will find everything.
Very pleasant location on the canal side next to several floating restaurant's, trees and interesting 19th Century warehouses, lots of old boat traffic too. Several good old pubs are very close, and its a great area to walk around. You pull up on the cobbled street outside and have to park illegally to check in.... really at a 4 star hotel ! The place is really pleasant, modern comfortable, breakfast is great and in a very pleasant restaurant looking out at the canal. I had a room at the back so didn't get the nice view, just looked out on a multistory car park and office building but that was fine and the room is very comfortable, beds are great and the bathroom was excellent. So just keep the net curtains closed and imagine you have a great view ! The issue for me was that the staff just weren't up to the quality of the hotel, there were one or two who got it but on the whole it didn't feel like a 4 star hotel. I was traveling with my 76 year old mother, at no time was I asked if I needed help with bags and never did anyone look up from the reception desk and say good morning or afternoon or even just Hi ! Its the little things that make a good hotel, this one could be excellent but its just not quite there yet ...

Nice hotel ; spacious room. Lousy view

Posted 17-May-2015
Nice hotel ; horrible view though out theback of a very scruffy car park. Awoke to the sounds of rubbish being put in the bins. Room was spacious and clean although I think it will need some refurb next year ie tile grouting.
