No deposit refund receipt.

Posted 17-Sep-2014
Pros: Clean, friendly and good location.
Cons: See note above.
All good. Except I expect, upon departure to get a receipt returning the hold on my credit card. It is disconcerting walking away not knowing if I'm going to have to go home (in this case, from Bristol to Vancouver), and then argue with someone to get it back. I would like the hold released immediately when I depart and a receipt for the actual, final amount in my hand.

Good central location close to Cabot Circus

Posted 24-Aug-2014
Pros: Central location was excellent
Cons: Internet/Wifi
Location: Major shopping centre - Cabot Circus - with shops, restaurants, cinema etc. Also other shopping areas within easy walking distance.
Stayed here for a course and enjoyed the central location - although a little noisy if your room is street side (main drag for very busy hospitals), the room was a good size with bed an sofa bed, bath and shower over and all expected amenities. Both the bar and restaurant offered reasonably priced and generously sized portions, but the service was a little slow and food lacked flavour on occasion. However, it was very easy to go out if you wanted to. The Academy (course location) was also a good location and offered a choice of beverages, pastries and sweets throughout the day. All staff were pleasant and helpful without being sycophantic.

Brilliant hotel in Bristol

Posted 09-Aug-2014
We were upgraded on arrival and got a free early check in - the room was immaculate, the service wonderful, and the hotel itself is in a great location. Fabulous stay and at the discounted rate, I'll definitely be staying there again.

Business Hotel with no wifi for 24 hours!

Posted 05-Aug-2014
Pros: The food at breakfast was good except 'smoked bacon' - personal thing! The room service was fair. Room was decent and clean and no noise.
Cons: Staff attitude - more willing to help.
Location: It's very close to the shopping Centre Cabots Circus, and the historical sites of Bristol.
Check-in was great, a nice cheerpy guy called Jamie. The room was good enough. As the whole point of my stay was to catch-up on some work and I needed wifi access, I was firstly confused by another guy on reception who asked if I wanted wifi £7 per 24 hours or super wifi £12 per 24 hour. I went for the super - sorry we haven't got any codes for it - 'they changed the password' and I don't know it! From ther things went down hill! The whole wifi throughout the hotel crashed and was off for 24 hours - with no information and a quite uninterested approach from the staff including the manger.Lots of people were frustrated. I know it was out of their hands, but it was a pain! The overall stay was ok, but I would have to think twice about staying there on a business trip. They did give me a days free parking to say sorry!

Great overnight stay

Posted 11-Jun-2014 on Hotels.com
This hotel was very convenient for a quick overnight stay en route to Dublin. The express bus from the airport stopped at the bus depot, which was less than a 2-minute walk away; there was a lot of shopping nearby, although restaurants in the area were somewhat limited. The room was clean and well-appointed, and the bathroom was really nice with an awesome shower. My room-service meal (a rocket and beet salad with grilled salmon) was disappointing (canned beets, pre-frozen salmon), but the service was quick and pleasant. There were quite a few undesireables pan-handling and drinking in the area after dark, so I wouldn't recommend walking alone in the area at night, but overall, I would recommend this hotel.

Great service

This is our second stay in a Holiday Inn in recent months, and we can't really fault anything at all. The staff were helpful and polite, and our cooked breakfast on Sunday morning was really welcome! The roundabout near the hotel isn't a place I'd want to pass through alone at night as there are a lot of down-on-their-luck people hanging around, but otherwise the hotel is very close to shopping and major venues, and we were even able to walk from the train station (15-20 minutes).

Good central location. Functional.

Functional hotel, not nice to look at but nice inside. Everything you'd expect from a big chain hotel. Close to Cabot circus , good for a weekend trip.
