The bedroom was clean and the bed comfortable. This is not a glamorous hotel but it suited us for a place to lay our head for the night.

I booked the ensuite room and it was worth it. Clean shower and the cold water was actually cool and refreshing on a really hot day. AC worked fine, bed & pillows comfy.

Horrendous overnight stay.
Was in a bit of a rush when i booked it. Have learned an important lesson. Room so small that person who sleeps on left side of bed needs to crawl over bed and partner, to get out. Door has massive gaps resulting in hearing every person who walks by. Lock? on door strengthened by paper stuffed against lock.window does not work. Previoys guest obviously a chain smoker. Toom stunk. Walls are very thin (it is a really old pub where im sure the less fortunate would rent a room) so you can hear very clearly conversations etc next door and in nearby toilet. Access and egress to the rooms is a very dodgy set of stairs. Bed wass ok but sleep almost impossible due to noise. Shared bathroom facilities average. My wife would not shower in them. If we hadn't driven 8 hours and time of evening, i would have definately found anothef place and forfeited my cash. Paid about $120 (yes know what you're thinking) & it was lycky to be worth $50. Absolutely the worst accommodation we have stayed in, in 40 years of travelling. We left next morning at 5am, couldn't wait to get out. I would suggest to all (unless you are absolutely broke) do not stay there.

The check in experience should have been painless except that despite my booking being acknowledged (to me) by last minute.com.au, I was unknown at the hotel. I subsequently discovered that advice to the hotel only occurred AFTER I actually opened the acknowledgement email. This caused unnecessary bother for both the friendly reception staff, and myself. My meal was not only excellent, but good value for money. I didn’t use the aircon until the room got a tad chilly in the middle of the night, but gave up the struggle with the supposedly reverse cycle system which only wanted to operate in cooling mode, so just put on a cardigan and spread my towel and a spare shirt on top of the bedding. Other than this minor inconvenience, I had a very comfortable sleep. Despite the hotel being located at a busy street corner, traffic noise was not a problem. Breakfast would have been available from an early hour but I chose to self cater. I left my shave and shower until about 8 am which resulted in cold water only for washing my hair. After worse experience with the Army 50 years earlier this wasn’t a big deal given the traffic to the 2 nearby shared shower facilities earlier in the morning. Someone else happily showered in the alternative option after I finished and I subsequently discovered a third third shower available near the rear stairway.

Appreciate it’s a long weekend so prices are high everywhere, but if you’re going to charge $169 for a verrrry basic single room, there should be remote controls provided for the tv and Aircon. Rooms vacuumed, but no one’s dusted the window in a while. Basic, clean accommodation. Hotel grade bedding. Security guard was friendly.

Lovely old pub with friendly locals. Room was basic but clean. We were too tired to keep driving & the Argyle Hotel was the perfect solution for a good feed & a good rest. Nice comfy bed.

Stayed here for one night for a bicycle event in the area. Chose it for its central location and ease. It was fine, very clean everything expected for the price. Would definitely stay here again.

Property was well under standard and unsafe with respect to security and other things. A chair collapsed and resulted in injury. No soap in the shower. No locks on windows. Not a place to revisit. This being said it is a great location and if some effort could be made into sprucing up the rooms it could be desirable. Stairwell could be tidied up and cleaned as well.

Property is very dated. Rooms need a massive facelift. We stayed in an ensuite room and was told it was one of the better rooms it was average. The shower needs a full rebuild the shower hob has broken tiles and the shower its self is held together with silastic. All rooms are supposed to be non smoking but that's all you can smell through out the top floor. Smoke gets drawn in from the air-conditioner as people are smoking in their rooms and blowing the smoke out of their windows. Very noisy of a night as people are using the shared bathroom and slamming doors etc. don't expect a good nights sleep. Security staff of a night were not friendly at all definite overall there is needed. I have stayed in many a pub accommodation over the years and this would have to be the worst.

Friendly and helpful staff in the bar. Room very clean, and comfy bed. No sink in the room. Shared facilities. Could hear movement in the corridor easily. Noisey fan or compressor from the hotel which stopped overnight. Corridor carpet dirty and stairs a bit scruffy.

Comfortable and clean beds. Dirty carpets, exposed cabling in the room. Bare furnishings, no closet or bench to put bags on in the room. Common bathrooms clean but could do with a bench or a shelf to put towels and toiletries on whilst showering. Otherwise great location, friendly & efficient staff, off street parking.

For basic accommodation, it was fine. The bed/linen was hotel grade. Being an old building, things just creaked and rattled. There was nothing in the room to promote Moss Vale or surrounds.

Great place to stay in Southern Highlands
Old historic pub that is well located in Moss Vale. Very reasonably priced and friendly helpful staff. Recommend it for a nice weekend or longer to get out of the big smoke.

The stay was pleasant and the room was sparse and just featured a bed only. However it was clean and comfortable and sufficed for our purpose of simply sleeping there one night. The shared bathrooms were also clean and in good order.

Not a bad stay but no for everyone.
We rented 2 rooms for 2 night for my family of 5. Good budget stay at a reasonably comfortable place even though the bathrooms are shared, but clean and equipped with amenities. Room nice with clean towels and linen, working tv and air-conditioner. A bit loud though facing outside and window not properly closing. Dinner is available downstairs. Overall can recommend if travelling on a budget or no other options available nearby.

I wasn't happy that there was no air-conditioning (then again did not check this before arrival) but the fact that an alternative wasn't prepared e.g. electric fan was unacceptable. Staff told me they gave out their supply of fans already to other guests but there should be enough per no. of hotel rooms. The gentleman at the bar was very polite and friendly upon check-in and handing out our dinner and asked if he could get us anything else. The hotel is good for a short overnight stay closeby to places like Kangaroo Valley.

The staff are very welcoming. Food is excellent. Bedroom could do with a mirror and an extra power point. Need to check on toilet paper in the bathroom as the dispenser ran out. Stairwell could be cleaner.
