I will point the good first as this is less time consuming! On arrival the owners were on hand immediately to greet us and help us unload the car INTO A MUDDY WHEEL BARROW to show us to our cabin 'Damson' on the way down to the cabin a drinking water point, the shower room, toilet and kitchen were all pointed out to us (all of which I will describe later) the cabin itself is as described - but I would say it is not in an orchard but more of a garden, it is very cosy at night with the candles (please take your own as not enough are supplied) and the fire lit (take more wood and kindling as not enough of that is supplied either), Jane kindly made us a coffee on arrival and as I stated they are very friendly people. Now the bad points, we paid for 4 nights but only stayed for 3 as enough is enough! The drinking water tap is low enough for the rats to drink from if desired, the shower room is a tin shed with nowhere to put your toiletries when showering or hang your towel and every day we showered with both slugs, snails and spiders along with mouse droppings on the windowsill, the window in the shower is a clear window and you can see out which means anyone walking past can look in too, the toilet is again a mish mash of wooden slats nailed together with plenty of gaps, it was not emptied for the full time we were there, which in my opinion is definitely not Eco, there was half a roll of toilet paper there on arrival and that is all we had! Now onto the kitchen (this is just a garden shed but my garden shed at home is cleaner) - this is right next to the toilet and made exactly the same, there is no running hot water anywhere except for the shower, the taps in the 'kitchen' were taped up, a cool box is provided but not clean enough to use and we were reluctant to leave any food in here as you don't know what is crawling over it in the night. We did not see any recycling points during our stay. We did walk around the site on our very first night and it looks nothing but a junk yard full of overgrown brambles, one other cabin is on site which we would not have let our dog sleep in, they also have a horsebox available to let but this again was filthy. We have stayed in many Eco friendly places over the years and enjoy the experience every time as this is what we look for, but on this occasion we were appauled at what we saw. A word of warning, there is no light in the shower and no lock on the cabin — my advise is to book somewhere else.
