Absolutely recommend staying here!! Beautiful property with excellent rooms and lots of character, and it’s an excellent price. Location is great and walkable to everything including stations. Good stay. Would do it again.
Had the Marlene Dietrich room. Comfy solid mattress. A perfect tiny balcony. Safe was a little glitchy. The breakfast was well done. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Loved taking the stairs, or nice old elevator. Can be hard to find. Hotel just takes up part of a floor in a large building. My phone was very helpful! Loved neighborhood just in walking distance.

This place is gorgeous. It's not a hotel in the commercial way, so don't expect a cheap kettle and coffee sachets in your room. This hotel is based inside a gorgeous old historic building. The stay here was truly wonderful. The staff, especially the handsome breakfast server, were all very attentive and professional. I doubted whether my return taxi they booked for me at 4.30am would be there, but it certainly was! Who doesn't want a beautiful chandelier in their bedroom? Or an oversized mural of a Marlene Dietrich above their bed? The mattress was, thankfully, firm and the bedding was clean and new. The room has incredibly high walls, giving a real sense of grandeur. It had all I needed for my short stay. The built in en-suite had black slate tiles and was contemporary and finished to a high standard. Because the hotel is situated inside an old building, the heating was provided by a radiator - which more than heated the room in the -13°C temperatures of Berlin in winter. Breakfast is served from 7.30 into 12, and there's a huge selection of food to get your day started. Including personally cooked eggs by a rather dishy cook 😍 But possibly the best part was using the old wooden elevator to get to the 3rd floor. It made me feel like I was in a period piece drama from the 1890s. If I'm ever lucky enough to get to Berlin again, I would definitely stay here. It's a shame I was only staying for 3 nights. Please support independent owners of small gay businesses 👍

Great location. Uncomfortable bed. No room darkening curtains. Shower is too small. There's no room to turn and bend to wash lower areas. When you move you always hit the faucet and either get a cold or scalding surprise.

This hotel is on the third floor of an old building, full of character. It is in the centre of the gay district of Berlin. Our room was spacious warm clean and quiet. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We would stay there again. It’s gay positioning had no impact on my wife and my enjoyment of the accomodation.

Happy with my stay
I'm absolutely happy about my stay here. The hotel is located in a very convenient neighborhood which offers you a lot of choices for buses and subways. And the room is really spacious with a great view of the street. And the staff are very welcoming and friendly, the check-in and check-out were super quick and easy. The only tiny little thing that bothered me was there were some ants in the room and climbed up on the bed on the first night as it is an old building. The rest things were nice and lovely!

Convenient
Hotel located close to train station, banks and bars. Easy to get around Berlin from hotel. My last night I was informed a flight had been cancelled and the receptionist at the hotel went above and beyond to assist me in getting a new flight, as my phone was not operating right.

Excellent Budget Hotel
A modest hotel on an upper floor of a larger building (there is an elevator). Great deal for the price. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Room is uncarpeted and not fancy, and bathroom is small. But main room is decent size, bed and fixtures are in good shape, and it is clean and comfortable. Location is excellent. It's quiet, is a few blocks from public transport and a main shopping street, and has a great selection of restaurants less than a block away.

Great stay - had a really terrific room with a door that opened to allow some fresh air in. Was a bit worried as it was near the front door to the hotel but it was quiet. The breakfast is wonderful and the location is really easy for me in terms of working and close to the Ubahn for fun activities. Also, found a pool nearby to go for a swim

The staff is incredible and if you have never stayed outside of central; you should stay here. As well there is a station across from it that gets you there quick(one stop). If you decide to stay in the area the Bret is incredible. Music, vibes, hotties...you'll love it

Cute and great location.
Staff is uber helpful. Hotel is clean and quiet. Breakfast is good. The usual buffet of cheese, meat, cereal, yohghurt, plus hot eggs to order and a big pot of coffee. The single room was fine. Bathroom a little cramped, but was en suite. Is located near lots of transportation options. Between the ZOO and hotel is a lot of shopping. Lots of restos and food as well.

Lovely Quaint
Great little hotel with fantastic transport links. Old style apartment building with the lovely high ceilings and wooden floors. Tastefully decorated. Friendly staff and helpful giving me hints and tips about getting around Berlin and what to see.

I stayed for 5 nights. EXCEPTIONALLY friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful staff. OUTSTANDING FULL Breakfast. Make sure to book WITH BREAKFAST INCLUDED (Little in the way of BREAKFAST options nearby). Wi-Fi was free, fast, and reliable. I nixed several other hotels because of bad reviews of Wi-Fi situation.

Very clean room, quiet and friendly staff. The hotel is at the third floor with lift, the room was clean and quiet. A tad cramped for a double room, but I was happy to have it all to myself

NOISY, and the staff doesn't care about it
There was one big problem with this hotel and two smaller ones. The big one was noise. I had a room overlooking a courtyard shared with other buildings, which was noisy enough at times, and I suppose a room facing the street might be even worse. But the big problem was construction work that was underway in the apartment right below my room. This involved power machinery and was REALLY loud; it also started up as early as about 8:45 am. One day when I was trying to work -- I was in Berlin on business -- I put up with this for a few hours before finally asking the guy at the hotel desk if he could at least find out when it was going to finish. (The hotel is too small to allow you to switch rooms.) He said he thought maybe 4 pm, although it turned out to be 7 pm. I waited a couple more hours, then asked him again to please try to find out when they would stop so I could at least try to plan around it. He just flatly refused. So I went downstairs myself and banged on a door until a guy with a power drill answered. He was happy to assure me they were almost done. It would not have been difficult for the desk clerk to do the same -- easier, in fact, since his German was much better than mine -- but as I say, he just refused. That strikes me as just unacceptable; I got the clear impression that this hotel just does not care about its guests' discomfort. The lesser problems were a very small room, and ...well, apparently I'm out of space, so I'll finish in the boxes below.

I would give this hotel a decent review. There was nothing too special other than free decent speed WIFI. For what I paid, the room was pretty tiny and standard looking as opposed to the way it was depicted in the website where it looked liked some artful decorated luxurious hotel. I found it rather ordinary. It was a 40 minute walk to some the major sites in Berlin in general. For the gay tourist, there were numerous gay bars nearby.

This Hotel is a little Gem in a GREAT location!
This hotel occupies the 2nd & 3rd floors of a row house. Definitely unusual for a hotel, but it's a boutique establishment in a non-touristy area of Berlin that is associated with the gay community. It's a real neighborhood, which we preferred. The restaurants and shops have a very local neighborhood feel to them and there are many lovely buildings of residential flats all around this property. It's a one block walk to the Viktoria U-Bahn Station in one direction, and a few blocks walk to the Kurfürstendamm Shopping District in the opposite direction. The Ka-De-Wa department store (the largest in Europe) is located there, and more importantly, all the sightseeing buses stop there. We got a two day pass and picked up the bus there in the mornings and then hopped on & off all day long as got a very educational tour of Berlin. We had Apt. 201 on the 2nd floor which was amazing! A kitchen, lovely bath, comfortable bed, big couch, a desk and lots of windows with views on 3 sides. We loved it! The hotel has an ancient lift and a lot of stairs, but that was not a problem for us. We scooted down the back steps to a lovely enclosed courtyard and out into the neighborhood. We loved everything about this place, including the very attentive staff and delicious breakfast every morning. We will definitely stay here again.

Generally a very good hotel. Although not a hotel in the traditional sense. It is in an apartment complex and on the third floor. Has a small lift. Large room and good beds. Nice to have a couch.bathroom is a bit small and looks a bit tidy and could use a general refresh. Hotel breakfast is amazing and in a beautiful separate room. You will hear some noise from other rooms and guests. It's a gay friendly hotel but do not let that detract you from visiting. Great location in a fantastic city.

Very spacious
We were in room 201 which is the biggest room but involves 2 short flight of stairs. Nonetheless, it was a huge beautifully appointed room that has all the amenities one would need. The Wi-Fi signal was weak, more a problem for iPhones than Android phones, tablets or laptops. The bed was very nice and firm. We were minutes from KaDeWe and the train station and Kaiser supermarket. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Property did not respond for check in and was rude blaming us. Room was an active construction site and we were not given proper room requested. They were drilling into the walls in the morning. Staff was rude and said check out was at 10:45 but it was written 11am. Staff entered room during stay while we were sleeping and still had paid for the room. Very loud construction and men looking into windows that didn’t have proper cover so they were watching us naked.

Dear Justin, Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at ArtHotel Connection in detail. We would like to respond as follows: we have sent you two arrival requests. The first one on May 24, 2023, which remained unanswered. The second on June 12, 2023, which was then answered by you only on the day of arrival. As you can see on Expedia, our reception closes at 10 pm. Your arrival should take place outside our reception hours. The colleague waited for you until 11 pm and then prepared an automatic late check-in for you. So the access to the hotel was guaranteed. That the colleague should have been rude on the phone while explaining the check-in procedure to you, we consider impossible. The colleague even wanted to explain to you the use of the elevator, but was grumpily interrupted by you with the rude remark that you prefer the stairs.... On June 8, 2023, we informed you via the Expedia portal that the building in which the ArtHotel Connection is located is being scaffolded due to painting work and that we as tenants have no influence on the renovation work. Our rooms all have opaque curtains. Therefore, none of the workmen should have seen you naked. Your room request with two separate beds came unfortunately also only on the day of arrival, so that we as a small boutique hotel could not react to it. But the room category was the right one as booked by you. Our housekeeping staff knocked on your door at 10:45am on the day of departure to point out the check-out time at 11am. You write that you were aware of this check-out time. How was it then that you were still asleep 15 minutes before check-out? We hope you had a pleasant time in Berlin despite the seemingly adverse circumstances for you and that you have arrived back home safe and sound in the meantime. Kind regards

Sehr schönes berliner Altbau-Hotel in Pride-Straße
Ich hatte einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt im ArtHotel, das einen wirklich schönen berliner Altbau-Charme versprüht. Das Personal war sehr nett, das Zimmer ordentlich und sauber. Auch die Lage in direkter Nähe zum KaDeWe und die Umgebung haben viel zu bieten: Die Straße erstrahlt in Regenbogenfahnen, denn dort sind mehrere Gay-Bars angesiedelt.
