"Only weird thing was that to turn on the shower you had to actually enter the shower and get hot with the cold water before you could adjust it to warm enough. It was totally bizarre and caused a lot of shrieks while the water got warmer."

"We entered the house in awe. It has inspiring architecture, thriving house plants, great set of games and a cute bathtub with a gorgeous view. Walls are paper thin, so we had to be careful with noise. It's located in the idyllic hill of a mountain. A beautiful swimming hole nearby, and scenic views all around."

"We enjoyed the style of the Motel—brought back memories of long ago. It was impeccably clean and everything in the room was fine. We were only there one night but it was a very nice, reasonably priced by the night instead of 2-3 night mandatory we had seen. Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming and settling in was easy with parking right in front of our unit and straight in with no stairs or hallways to wrangle luggage through. If you are looking for an adventure, this motel will give you and your family a fun stay."

"Pictures do not do this property justice. From the jaw-dropping views, to the artfully decorated interior, this house is one of the best properties we have ever rented. The house is well-appointed with everything you might need: a full kitchen with spices, a deep soaking tub in a newly refurbished bathroom, 2 different living room spaces, and a wonderful deck to drink your coffee on while watching the sun come up. The house sits on 100 acres with lots of mown trails to beckon you into the forests. Our host was attentive to our needs, and offered up just the right amount of helpfulness and hospitality We will be back."

"We booked this hotel as a half way point on our way to Niagara Falls. From the moment we checked in the staff we incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and the amenities were nice. My family enjoyed swimming in the pool. It’s near a chilis which was nice to stop and have dinner. If ever in the area again we would stay again!"

"South Shire is a quaint Victorian Inn on Elm Street within walking distance to the center of Bennington, VT. The Inn has a family feel and elegance. We traveled as a couple. It was easy to get to sites and enjoy fine restaurants. The Inn is in keeping with the feel of strength of the Bennington community, as a place for artists, musicians, and people's expression generally to thrive. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend South Shire."
