“Two birds in a nest chirping in the vineyards!”

Great hotel centrally located between Koblenz and Mainz. If you are touring this area, this is the hotel for you. The hotel staff are very helpful and willing to give information about the area and suggest activities for the days you are there. We stayed in a room in the attic of the building. We wound through the hotel to get up to the room and went up several flights of steps (not for the physically challenged). We felt like birds in a nest looking out over the vineyards and the Wernerkapelle ruins. The top floor would be great for a larger family because there is a main area with a sitting area and three or four rooms off of that area. We were there when the town was sleepy and the hotel was not full (late April...a great time to visit and not have lines and crowds at the castles). We could see how in the summer when the hotel is busy and windows open, that it could be noisy especially without AC to drawn out the creaking stairs, the people on the streets, kids in the halls, etc. This is typical in Europe with old buildings and adds to the ambiance, so enjoy the old world style. The breakfast is typical European fare with cheese, cold cuts, yummy fresh baguettes, boiled eggs, fresh fruit and juices. The best thing about it is the WMF coffee machine which provides many styles of yummy coffees! We requested parking which was affordable and located next to the hotel. Our car was parked in an individual garage with a door opener. It was very convenient! Enjoy your stay!

“Excellent stay in Bacharach”

The Am Markt was a fantastic place to stay in Bacharach, the location near the Alte Haus and view towards the vineyards meant we were well placed to go for regular strolls through town and along the river. Ther room was huge, bathrooms clean and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was a feast of tasty cheeses, meat, cereals and bread rolls plus boiled eggs on our second morning. Staff were friendly and helpful, both of the people we met spoke English as well which made it easier for us. It wasn't peak season in Bacharach so the town was relatively quiet and peaceful, perfect for us and a wonderful break from the bigger cities and towns.

What a nice place to stay. It has everything including a bar, a restaurant, hotel and they even let me use a garage for my car. The room was very large and roomy. Very nice staff.

“Pleasant surprise”

The hotel had charm and was perfectly situated. The breakfast was unexpected and one of the better breakfast I had . It was fresh, had variety and service was thoughtful.

“Lovely hotel, shame about the service”

A lovely hotel, clean, well appointed and in a good location. However, it was let down by the attitude of the staff. They were not welcoming or friendly. A smile and few words would have made all the difference.

“Great Location, hotel just so-so”

The hotel was in an ideal location, older and in good condition. However, the bedding was odd, the pillow cases and bedding was textured, not comfortable to sleep in, although the beds themselves were comfortable. The towels were horrible. Mismatched: blue, yellow, white, and one was obviously so old it was scratchy and stained. When we arrived, the staff were serving dinner while getting us checked in and were not at all polite. After that evening they were much nicer. Decent but not great breakfast. I would recommend this hotel if they would provide decent bedding and towels and the staff would treat us as if they were happy we were there.
