1st nights stay of our 6 week touring holiday.
Great place to stay in fact we even asked if we could stay another night but they were fully booked so we had to move on the following day.

Centrally Located
Easily accessed with a vehicle (two entrances to the onsite car park) and a short walk to the centre of town. Older hotel, almost like a period piece. Comfortable. Could smell the cooking in the kitchen in reception.

The hotel is very nice — the pictures are good representations of the property. The bed was comfortable and there were extra pillows and blanket in the room.

Rooms very dated. Air conditioning did not work. No shower curtain in bathroom. Bed uncomfortable. Hard to recommend.

Hotel is good but it's not rainfall type of shower. Breakfast is fresh bread, boiled eggs, cheese, and ham. They had Serrano ham too. Overall was worth it. Great property and location. I would stay there again. Nice town and nice staff.

Pleasant overnight transit hotel
A very pleasant rustic hotel that I have used on several occasions. Rooms are clean but basic. I had to search about a bit for an electrical socket, but finally found one. Internet is open with no password, which saves a bit of hassle. Breakfast is standard continental, fine for me. Good coffee. the garden is pleasantly wild with classical statues. Overall positive and \i will continue to use it as my transit hotel when I travel down through France - good value.

Quiet hotel, quiet town
The hotel stay was fine, if weather was warmer would loved to take advantage of little sitting area in the back. This is a very sleepy town with really not much to do, but not the fault of the hotel.

I stayed in this hotel several times, and always enjoyed it. This time around the rooms seem to have been a bit upgraded. It's an old traditional building at the edge of town, but easy walking distance from the town center. Drive in through an ancient arch to a large secure parking/garden area with mature trees. My artist friend found this an excellent painting location. Wi-Fi is strong, with no password needed. Friendly staff, good breakfast. I will continue to use it on future trips.

Great little hotel
If your looking for more of an independent hotel for a stopover this is a great one. Whilst being small and quite quirky this fulfilled all requirements and was in a great location. The town was lovely with some wonderful restaurants, and the Saturday morning market had loads of very tasty food. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. All in all it was a pleasure to stay here.

I have used this hotel several times as a convenient stop when traveling towing a boat to the med. 5 km from junction 22 on A6. Large secure car park locked at night . Very good restaurant 3 doors away. Good breakfast. Pretty town.

Full of traditional charm
Thoroughly enjoyed a two night stopover here on the way back from the South. The Hotel d'Avalon isn't the modern, crisp chain hotel that you'd get from Accor, but what it lacks in air-con and fresh painted plaster it more than makes up for in atmosphere, friendly welcome, ideal location in a beautiful town and traditional charm. Good value breakfasts and lovely outlook over the back garden woodland. Will definitely return.

Pretty hotel for an overnight stop
The hotel is well located (<5 minute walk into the old town centre) with friendly staff and has a nice park/wooded area. Easy and plentiful car parking. There are lots of interesting pictures and posters which help one to get an idea of the area, but without making the place like a tourist office. An older hotel, adding to it being attractive, but does mean that there were not many electric sockets and the bathroom was more 'traditional' (e.g. hand-held shower rather than wall-mounted).

This is a fairly basic hotel, but very close to the centre of town, and the staff were friendly and helpful. If you are looking for luxury, go elsewhere, but if your needs are simpler then this place should be more than adequate.

Good Location
Small town, on main road, easy to find, plenty of parking. v short wark to town centre. Room clean but super dated. Bathroom also requires modernisation. The bath was half size so you couldn't stretch out your legs unless you were of kiddies proportions! Shower consisted of an attachment to the taps, no attachment on the wall to hold the shower head and no shower curtain. Overall was clean.

very good value for the price
The price was not expensive but hotel charming and in very convenient location to walk all over Avallon. Hotel has free parking lot which is great convenience. Breakfast was very nice and only 7.50 euros. I have stayed here several times and would definitely stay at hotel again.

Avallon Vauban Citotel
Excellent location just few minutes from centre of Avallon - a typical historic French town. Easy to find - at junction of D606 and D944. Good stop if on way to Calais - 6hours including refreshment stops. Plenty of car parking space. Reception staff very efficient and friendly. Room spacious if decor a bit dated!!! comfortable bed, bath and shower. Lovely large garden. Would recommend 2 nights to see town and Vezerley close by.

Calme et cadre très agréable
localisation de l'hôtel idéalement situé, à proximité du centre ville, tout en étant au calme avec parking fermé attenant à l'hôtel, parfait entretien des chambres, discrétion et disponibilité du personnel

Rapport qualité prix correct La chambre aurait besoin d’un rafraîchissement (Bas de la baignoire en mauvais état, les fenêtres n’ouvrent apparemment pas et forte odeur de désinfectant ou produit de nettoyage en entrant dans la chambre Mais hormis cela l’ensemble est correct pour une nuit et propre Bien pour une étape
