Little piece of heaven
This place surpassed our expectations - the location is unrivaled, with a completely unobstructed view of the fjord and mountains. The space is so big, clean, and comfortable - and beautifully lit with natural light spilling through the massive windows. All the things we wanted to do were within walking distance - the Hondungo hike, the Stokko hike, and kayaking. We loved our little balcony (perfect for yoga!) The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we could need. Parking was no problem at all. We stayed three nights and I wish we could have stayed a week - or a month! Would definitely book again.

Beautiful Place
We visited in the off season in October. It was beautiful even if it was chilly. Just know ahead of time what is open and what in closed if you plan to visit in the off season. Our hosts were very kind and helpful .

This property is in a very tranquil setting right on the fjord. We wished we could have stayed longer because it was so beautiful. Also, the 3-bedroom apartment was very clean, modern, and quite large.

The apartment was fine. There are windows on 3 sides of the lounge and dining area, which give absolutely stunning views of the fjord. It was so sublime we extended our stay and, if we had the time, would have stayed longer. The only 2 down sides for us were that the bed was very hard and creaked loudly every time one of us turned over. The shower didn’t stay on its holder, so the showering experience was a big of a faff. That said, water pressure was strong. In spite of this, we would return just for that incredible vista.

Spacious property, stunning location
Visit undredal was more spacious than we were expecting based on the pictures. The huge living area had fantastic views over the fjord, and there was even a private sauna! Location was also excellent - only a few minutes walk to the village and several trails on the doorstep, including a route along the edge of the fjord. Cabin owner was very helpful providing recommendations in the area. Only negative was the check-in experience, it took over half an hour from arrival until the owner arrived, despite ringing the advertised numbers multiple times.

This place was above expectations in most ways, considering the price we paid: Better views than expected More space than expected (spacious living room and kitchen) Better location than expected (short drive from Flåm, and you can drive all the way to the apartment) Friendlier owner and staff than expected.

It is not dirt but air and no danger to drink, but it is not like it should be. Normally we have the "best water in the world". The view from the cabin is SUPERB, totally million dollars view. Property was in an okay condition, full kitchen and stuff. Warm enough (4 degrees at night). We couldn't contact the reception for check-in, luckily we could get a help. Surroundings are quiet and peaceful, very nice for vacation.

Amazing place! The pictures don't do justice! The place is literally on the water. The owners were very helpful and kind. The house was very comfortable and great for our young children. Highly recommend and want to return.

We had the bottom floor of a house to ourselves. It includes 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, living room and bathroom. The place is very spacious and has a great view of the surrounding nature. The kitchen was equipped with a full set of supplies and amenities, as well as coffee/tea. There was also a laundry machine present. The check-in location was difficult to find (you have to follow signs for registration to a small restaurant in order to check-in). The house itself is located at the edge of town and the road leading to the house is very rural. The town is very lovely and we saw many goats that blocked the road driving in/out.

Difficult to get to. No public bus. Water ferry infrequent and pricey. Apartment needs blackout shades. Restaurant was very good if a little pricey too. Beautiful setting and although difficult to get to, is away from the swarms of tourists in Flåm.

Utterly stunning views, location is fantastic, staff friendly and helpful, food good and very reasonably priced (for Norway). The property could do with a refurb as rather dated kitchen although we came here for the location and view so not too much of a concern for us. We like more isolated locations with less tourists so found this great.

Offer a good night sleep
It was very hard to find out the hotel (or more accurate it was a cottage). It was by the fjord, with nice view and quiet environment, you can have a good night sleep, but not many things available in surrounding areas, not much to do after supper. The parking space is a bit tricky, and the back door cannot be properly locked.

Excellent Location. Pure Norway it just doesn't get any better than this. You will stay in a Norwegian house. The village is fantastic and the views to the Fjord are magnificent. Just bring your toiletries, soap, shampoo, etc. Remember you are renting a house, but if you don't have the toiletries there is a great store/market/deli, etc,etc. at walking distance. Strongly recommended if you want to live the real Norwegian adventure.

We stayed in Undredal three nights, of our week in Norway. We are value travelers, preferring to shed the amenities of a hotel, for the freedom of an apartment. There are tradeoffs of this approach, and we do not penalize the places we stay for these trades. We are a retired couple, I am in my 70’s. The apartment is on the lowest floor of the house, described as ground floor, we in the US might call it walk out basement. That being said, it is very airy, has multiple large windows facing the fjord, and a nice walk out wood deck with table and chairs. The view is great. Wonderful place to have an afternoon drink, and watch the goats on the cliffs on far side of the fjord, and the cruise ships leave Flam. Flam is around a bend in the Fjord and not visible. The town of Undredal is easily seen from the deck, and picturesque. The apartment is quite large, huge living room area, with sofas, a dining area off the kitchen, large bathroom, and two bed rooms. There were only two of us so we used the second bedroom to store our luggage. When the upstairs is rented, it is possible to hear them walking about. The kitchen is fully equipped, having a dish washer, full size stove, full refridge freezer, coffee maker, and microwave. Cupboards had pots pans, silverware, cups, glasses, etc. We cooked our dinner there each of the three nights we stayed. Coffee filters are provided, as is coffee, and dishwasher soap.A hand knife sharpener would be a valuable addition as their carving knives wer

Amazing place, incredible view I could even qualify of magical. This stay and Undredal ranks in my top 3 worldwide, the property is unique in terms of what it offers. Some amenities could be slightly improved like the double bed but it is minor compared to the happiness you get staying there!

Away from the tourist traffic but near Flam
Visit Undredal is located in a small, quiet, peaceful village away from the tourist traffic but near Flam. Our cottage was large, clean, and with the fjord view. On our drive in we encountered a flock of goats, the sound of rushing water, and beautiful mountain views. We arrived later than we hoped, in the rain and dark so it was a bit difficult to find the registration office, but once there we were warmly greeted and given directions to our cottage. Bring food and enjoy a sweet picnic on the porch. We stayed two nights and would gladly stay again!

Cute cozy cabin
This place felt more like a cottage/cabin than a hotel. The space was cozy and cute with the view of the fjords right in the backyard. The cabin itself was huge. The restaurant was closed during our stay but we were able to cook in the kitchen. Fast wifi, hot showers. One thing that would've been nice is shampoo and soap for the shower. Other than that, fabulous stay.

Isolated apartments - Scary.
It was as a decent experience. If you go at night, driving conditions could be difficult with no proper inner roads. Apartments are very isolated. Ideal for a bigger group and not for couples or travellers.

A Very Special Place
I hesitated to write a review because as it’s uniqueness and beauty becomes better known, it will make future bookings more difficult. Undredal is a small village that shares the Aurland fjord with Flåm and Gudvangen. It is accessible by car, bus and ferry. “Visit Undredal” manages the bookings for a limited number of houses and apartments in this small village, they also have a small grocery store and a cafe with amazing views of the fjord. We stayed in a 3-bedroom house on the edge of the fjord. It was very comfortable and clean. Our September stay allowed us to experience the beauty of this area in an almost private/isolated setting ( without the throngs of tourists that flock to Flåm). A truly unique experience.

Great Place - Get there during daylight
Despite several issues we had locating the hotel, we had a fablous stay and wish we had planned to stay two nights instead of one. We were surprised to learn that we actually had an entire apartment, which was great for our family of 6. We did think we would be right on the water from the pictures, however the apartment was situated towards the back of the town. It still had fantastic views from every room though of the fjords and water. Get there during daylight as the place is impossible to find at night - there's no signage (part of the charm of the town) and you actually check in at a different place than the room is located. By far the cutest down we've ever been to and if we ever get a chance to come back to Norway, we will stay here again. It was a great little hotel and beautiful town.

Paid an outrageous amount of money to stay 2 nights in a 2-bedroom apartment right on the fjord. Location was wonderful, view from the veranda was gorgeous and the town was very quiet which made for a peaceful stay. However, the apartment was very dated and rundown, didn't seem like it had been updated since about 1980, definitely not worth the money. We brought all our groceries with us from Bergen so that we could make all our meals and were extremely disappointed to find out 1) pots and pans were filthy with burnt-on food and scraped-off Teflon coating 2) basics like cutlery and sharp knives were in short supply (only 3 forks, one tea towel, no dish cloth - just a dirty scrub brush) 3) a number of light bulbs were burnt out, including the one over the stove and another in the kitchen ceiling, the lighting was so poor that we could barely see what we were doing, lamp in living room was broken 4) landlord gave us one lightbulb for over the stove and told us to replace it ourselves, which meant taking down the stove fan filter, which was filthy and obviously had never been cleaned or changed in 30 years 5) worst of all - the fridge didn't work and obviously hadn't worked for some time (as the temperature control said it was at 24 degrees C inside the fridge), landlord said he couldn't fix it and gave us a cooler with one tiny icepack, said he would get someone to look at it the next day but didn't, refused to give us any type of refund/discount for the inconvenience.

Dear guest. We must see it was surprising to get this feedback even if we obviously take the criticism that everything was not as it should in the apartment. We strongly regret that it reduced the pleasure of your stay. We had close dialogue with the Norwegian couple you traveled with. Obviously very unfortunate that the refrigerator was out of order, it was unknown to us and should have been discovered by the cleaning staff. We did everything we could to solve the problem. On the other hand, we are inclined to comment on the rental price. They paid NOK 2,790, - for two days four people, and there is no high price for a big apartment with this location. There was no dialogue on reduced price and we recorded no wish so it is directly wrong that we refused to reduce the price. In retrospect, we see that we could have offered reduced prices due to shortcomings. If they wish a new trip to this area we can offer a well-equipped apartment with an equally good location. Contact us directly and we can offer you an extra good price as compensation. Thank you for your visit and welcome again to Undredal!

Get there during the daylight and stay 2 nights
We arrived very late past check-in time due to tunnel construction and road issues and the hotel was willing to get us in bery late, which was nice. Unfortunately the map provided to our rentals was not clear and we ended up on a very small, precarious, unpaved road that made me end up backing a 9 passenger van back down. I tried calling for help, but he did not answer multiple calls. I think it would have been ok in the daylight, but I was really frustrated that I couldn’t get help. The apartments were lovely and well equipped- but could use new mattresses and pillows (smaller people didn’t have as much of a problem, but there was little support for larger folks. One of the units would actually have slept all 7 members of our party, but it only said it could fit 6, so we ended up paying twice as much as we really needed to. The picture advertised is of the cafe in town where you can get food starting at 11 - it was very good food. I believe the grocery store is open earlier though. There is also a cute Stave church (smallest in Northern Europe). A very relaxing seeming area, would be be a nice retreat I think, the town only has a couple of hundred people - way more goats!!! And the cheese and sausage made there is fabulous!

Great location in a real tiny village. One store, one restaurant, one church. Our unit was right on the water and we had breakfast on the terrace each morning. Restaurant makes good pizza. Everything is expensive, but that is how it is all over Scandinavia.

Spectacular Views
Visit Undredal is a series of individual buildings. we stayed in the one furthest away from the office right on the Fjord. We were on the lower floor of a two story building which had two separate apartments. The location and view were spectacular.The accommodations were spacious. we used three separate bedrooms. There was a full kitchen , two dining areas -one indoor and one outside . Everything was clean and well maintained. We really enjoyed our brief stay.

Beautiful and magical
Loved getting to it by boat. Quite a remote location but well worth the trip.

Location, Location, Location
Visit Undredal is in an amazing off-the-beaten path village near Flam (Eidfjord). It is charming in its own right, provides relaxation in the country, and spectacular views of the fjord and water. There is little available by means of food and entertainment, given its’ location; so come prepared to cook, drink your own beverages, and spend time to yourself. There is only one ferry in and one ferry out. Make sure not to miss these or the taxi to the location will cost you well over $100US. Staff is hip, friendly, and listen to your wants and needs.
