“Excellent experience”
Staff and accomodations were above expectations.
“can't wait to go back would return there on next trip”
only good reviews about everything
“Down right sweaty but beds as comfy as my favorite pillow”
Hotel tries but does not really meet the mark. Our A/C was turning out air that was so humid we had to blow dry our clothes dry in the morning. The front desk did the best they could.. but the hotel may just be getting old. The non hd magnavox should have been our first clue. THE BED ON THE OTHER HAND WAS SUPER COMFY..and the room very clean
“Disappointed”
We were told by two hotel employees that we would be allowed "pool privileges" at three nearby hotels along with a work out room since this hotel had neither. When we tried to obtain pool passes, the front desk clerk was rude and told us she had no idea what we were talking about. We come to Atlanta every summer, and we will not stay at this hotel again.
“Nice Hotel”
Nice hotel, clean and good location. Took the maid service until 5pm the next day to tidy up the room, though.
“NO SLEEP in Atlanta”
We arrived late (after 9 p.m.) on the first nitght of our week in Atlanda. Our specific room was not clean yet and since we booked with a third party we had to take what was offered they said. We were traveling with 3 ppl and the 2 double beds were a tight fit. The king with sleeper sofa that was promised would have helped a lot. The beds were not comfortable and floors were worn. Each day it was a "treat" to see which items we would have to call to the front desk to ask for--some days towels some days toilet paper etc. However the last 2 nights were worse than sleeping at a 1/2 star motel. A group of "students" came in at 2 a.m. and did not sleep at all--we were able to sleep in that day and got a few hrs. However security was no help that night or the following when the noise began about 10 p.m. and continued until we threatened to call 911--There were 18 under 21 year olds in the hall blocking our doorway--my 12 yr old was scared most of the night. By then it was time to go home--for us.
“Nice, but needs service oriented personnel”
The hotel was clean, room was comfortable. Lots of restaurants nearby, public transportation was a short walk away. Personnel at front desk, (lobby), and bar area were very pleasant. Personnel in restaurant during breakfast time need service oriented training and personalities. They didn't seem like they wanted to do their job. If you asked for a refill on coffee, they acted as though we shouldn't ask them for assistance. The service was like that the first two days of our stay, so we decided to eat breakfast out the other two days.
“will not recommend”
got a refund for the first nite because we were given the wrong room. Once we got into the bigger room we noticed there weren't any sheets on the roll out bed and the blanket had some, what looked like to be, a discharge stain on it. The picture on the 19 inch tube televsion was slanted which made it difficult to watch. The room was located next to a loading dock so sleeping was quite difficult up until 1 or 2 a.m. This was the second Doubletree Hotel I had stayed at within a week, and on both occasions I was highly disappointed. We were also disappointed that the hotel did not have a pool. The bar in the lobby had great service, but the prices were ridiculously high.
“Not Impressed”
Rooms are far from sound proof. For two of the nights that I stayed there, there was loud partying in the room next to mine which went on until four o'clock in the morning. I was very disappointed and got very little sleep. The carpet and drapes in my room had green stains - which made me think that it was not very clean.
“$30 Buck-head”
I'll start by saying that when I travel to Atlanta, I need to be in Buckhead. with that said, there are lots of options. The DoubleTree seems to be a newer property. It was very clean from the lobby right through to the room. The restaurant and bar off the lobby was also clean and the food was pretty good...not a charateristic which consistently describes DoubleTree. They shuttled me to my destination the next morning. I can't comment on parking because I take MARTA from the airport into Buckhead, but it appears that there isn't any parking except for valet. HERE'S the problem...DoubleTree ALWAYS puts something on your credit card ($25 or $30) when you provide one for "incidentals." It's annoying and few other chains do that. I stayed here on the 21st of March. It's the 31st and the charge on my card is still pending.
