Really lovely hotel, service and rooms were brilliant and great location super close to the station. Staff were really helpful before arrival. Breakfast was also really nice!

Assen is lovely, quiet so friendly and safe feeling. The Hotel De Jong is a super quiet clean and comfortable place to stay and so well positioned. We will be back.

A few days stay
As the temperatures were around 30 degrees C during the day it was very hot so air conditioning would have been better as it was very hot at night trying to sleep. Other than that the hotel was comfortable and the area very central so easy to walk and bike everywhere.

I travel to Assen for the Truckstar Festival and this is my fifth year running I have stayed at the Hotel De Jonge. I love it here and have already enquired about a Booking for my stay next year.

Nice and getting nicer
Nice hotel getting a renovation making it even nicer. Good breakfast in the restaurant - which also serves a decent dinner. Watch not to plug too many things into the wall as the whole room is on one circuit!

Assen is a quiet town. Hotel and its restaurant was very good. Breakfast has lots of choice.

Enjoyable Stay
Hotel is split between two buildings which are divided by a small narrow road off the main road and the reception located down this road. Had a very friendly welcome and advised rooms were on either side of road with some rooms above restaurant. Rooms were clean, fairly quiet and good wifi. Round the corner if you did not want to eat in hotel were a few restaurants and tried Liff which was excellent. From a business point of view it was good hotel, decent desk to work from and a short taxi ride from train station. Breakfast was reasonable. Value for money it was good value and certainly would stay there again. Very pleasant town centre.

Paid online and at the desk for the room. Different rates. After complaining I got the lowest rate back. Very guest unfriendly. Also under construction, hotel and street.

The staff are brilliant and nothing is too much trouble. One particular male member of staff in the bar, recognised my partner from the year before and then remembered what drinks we had had on the first evening of this trip for the following evening. Hotel staff helped us with any queries we had about the local area finding out the answers for us if they didn't know. The hotel was under renevation during our visit this time but this didn't affect our stay in any way whatsoever. We will definitely be staying here again.

Everything you’d expect from a best western. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, modern and had everything you could want for a business trip. Room was uncomfortably cold though.

Amazing hotel

Location excellent, a work in progress.
I have stayed here in 2013 as well. I have seen a noticeable improvement with renovations underway. When I pulled in to check in I noticed the bar was kind of load, didn't hear a thing in our room. The parking is not the greatest as there is none but the municipal parking was handy and secure. market outside on Saturday was an awesome treat as well. Great job on fixing the place up.

Worst Western Room!
Unfortunately the room we were given was not at all to our expectations. In terms of size it was a massive room but comfort - where was that? To start off with the mattresses which have seen better days, I had awful back pain after a night's sleep, the mattresses were worn, curved down the middle and sitting on the bed to lie down was painful as the wood structure of the bed hits you first. Next is the bathroom - mould in between each and every tile, and this is expected as there is no ventilation whatsoever! Furthermore, water pressure fluctuated! Saturday night was the worst night of my life ever! Our bedroom walls felt like they will tumble down! Disco noise all night till 5:15 am! Terrible! It is worse than having an adjacent house being pulled down right in the middle of the night! Also very little privacy as there were windows of other rooms overlooking ours and also a kind of terrace with table and chairs were patrons in a conference room or other adjacent hotel rooms could access - so curtains have to be pulled and often windows closed for safety. Oh... and what about temperature control ... there is no air condition so it can get pretty warm. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room although the booklet says you can ask for it at reception -but receptionist had no clue when I asked for this! Also receptionist not knowledgeable about transport possibilities to reach Assen TT circuit (and this during an event weekend) except that we can get a taxi.
