An excellent experience
The owners welcomed us very warmly and where extremely caring, bringing us some fuel for the fire and checking we knew how everything works. The property is superb, very comfortable and on a great location, with a nice private set up to allow you to enjoy with friends and family

Family celebration
Very comfortable spacious accommodation that suited our family of 10 ,six adults and four children .We had a wonderful time exploring County Wicklow and the Lodge is centrally located and within driving distance of beach/ forest and outdoor activities for children.The hosts Una and Pete were very welcoming and available if we had any query’s ,all in all an excellent holiday ,Thanks Una and Pete for your welcome and hospitality

Special Place
We as a large family had a brilliant stay at The Lodge,this is our 2nd time to stay. There is plenty of space for us all to relax and enjoy and be together.We were celebrating my Husband's 70th Birthday . We brought board games to play and also made smores on the fire pit in the garden which we was so much fun,we danced and laughed and made great memories.The beds are so comfortable,great kitchen with all the utilities you need .we made a Sunday roast dinner and sat around the large table plenty of room for us all . Garden space so good and the grandchildren enjoyed it. Our host's Una & Pete are so friendly and helpful ,thank you both so much for looking after us all,it is a real pleasure to stay at your beautiful lodge and look forward to staying there again

Beautiful and unique property that catered well for all our needs. Relaxing and quiet yet close to local amenities. Lovely outdoor seating area and large dining table indoors too that we could all easily sit around (9 of us). Lots to do in area. Thank you for a great stay

Just great!
A pleasure! We stayed for a week, a handful of adults and some of our young (almost adults, mainly). The house is great, just look at the pictures. Great kitchen/living room, with a nice wood stove for the joy of it. Ashford is a great starting place for tours to the coast, e.g. to Wicklow, as well as into the mountains. Don't miss Glendalough, btw. So we just had lots of fun, and enjoyed it. Highly suggested.

Our hearts are full!
We just completed our 10 day stay and the entire family dreaded leaving! We loved the home, location, cozy yet spacious…and surrounded by beauty! It could not have been any better…kitchen had everything we needed…the absolute perfect spot to celebrate Christmas holiday!

Great place to stay.
We met here with family. We live in USA. Family lives in England and Scotland. House was great. Had everything you need. Great location. Every couple loved having their own room/bathroom. Plus there was plenty of room for our 3 year old grandson to play. Cute town. Una and Pete were great to deal with and attentive to needs.

Family get together
We as a large family could not fault this great lodge for our 3 night stay. Spotless clean and comfortable.great beds and pillows .we brought board games with us.the grandchildren and Adults had great fun around the very large kitchen table which seated us all.The grandchildren enjoyed the outdoor area,we made smores around the fire pit so much fun and laughter.Thanks to our host's Pete & Una

Ireland Family Trip
Took our adult children and their spouses on a beautiful trip to Ireland! This house was absolutely beautiful, well maintained and we appreciated the craftsmanship to building this! The house design and decor definitely contributed to us have an enjoyable experience, providing separate bedrooms/bathrooms for all, and very relaxing space to spread out! Kitchen is gorgeous and has everything you need. The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet, and quick walk into town. Short/quick drive to a Lidl or Aldi for more in-depth grocery needs. Location is perfect for exploring this region of Ireland: which is a real gem!! We took a couple trips into Dublin, and visited little towns in Wicklow Co. I highly recommend this house, and the owners were perfect hosts, all along the booking process!!

Impressive house and wonderful hosts
Six friends from three different countries met here to continue a decades-long tradition of visiting new places and sharing each other's company. The house is quite a showpiece, built largely of repurposed materials, a thoughtful combination of comfort and style. As right-side drivers, we didn't want to risk renting a car, but the house was situated well for walking into the village and to bus stops, one kilometer down the hill.

Fantastic space for a girls 30th weekend!
Una and Pete were wonderful hosts - So kind and understanding! The house was gorgeous and had everything we could have needed for a fantastic 30th birthday weekend! It didn't even feel like we were in Ireland (I live in Wicklow so was nice for the holiday vibe!). We had dinner nearby at Mortimers and it was so special. The outdoor area was a favourite of everyone and the bedroom layouts worked very well for 12 ladies. The space was very clean and comfortable - Especially the beds. Outdoor shower was a fun addition! Thank you both for the wonderful experience! I would recommend this listing to anyone!

Super location
We spent 10 days in Co Wicklow and had a fantastic break. Una and Pete were excellent hosts and on day 1 we broke our sons buggy which is specially adapted. Pete offered to fix it and left it back with us that evening. Great location for many attractions and house was spotless with everything we needed for our stay. Would highly recommend

the main purpose of our visit was for my daughters wedding. Suited us perfectly as all had there own room with bathroom and could also accommodate some wedding guests at the weekend. great bus service to Greystones, Bray ect. Loved it really and Una was very pleasant and so helpful. Would recommend

Wonderful experience all the way around!
Pete & Una are both lovely hosts! The house is unique in all the best ways! Walking to town is easy and there are numerous hiking opportunities in the area. The Wickford area is beautiful and everyone in our family- from the 6 year old to the Grandpa we’re thrilled with our advents and our time in the house! 50th Anniversary
Pete is an absolute marvelous host. Was very accommodating and considerate. Helped us find places and things to do. Assisted in shipping items back to the states, even dropping by at a moments notice to lend a hand. Everything was as stated in the listing, even better than we thought. We all enjoyed staying in Una and Pete’s beautiful property. There was enough room for the 8 of us including a baby. The decor, and amenities were great and we enjoyed the outdoor space. The location was excellent and a great base to explore from.

Incredibly beautiful Lodge!
We LOVED our week stay at Pete and Una’s home in Ashford. The home is situated up on a hill surrounded by lush green and chirping birds. It was magical. So close to town for food and our favorite - Irish breakfast & coffee! The lodge is very unique, artsy, and equipped with everything needed. We felt right at home. Cozy, warm, extremely spacious for our family of five. It was such a comfortable haven for us to return to every day. My kids loved lighting the fireplace, showering in the outdoor shower, exploring the area, and especially having their own large bedroom and bathroom. It was the best! We hope to return to Pete and Una’s home. It made our trip so special and memorable. We appreciate how welcoming, helpful, and kind they were during our stay. Thank you! ❤️

Great home, warm and loved all rooms with a bathroom
All very comfortable. Loved the big dining table. Family enjoyed the space. We were 9 plus occasional friends. Two small things- dryer took forever to dry. Could do with brighter light in living room. Hosts very accommodating. House as described. Easy drive to Dublin and other attractions. Would highly recommend.

Perfect stay in the Wicklow area
Great location for accessing the Wicklow area. The property was a perfect getaway - clean, great showers and really comfy beds. Gorgeous outdoor area too with fire pit and egg swing chair and fairy lights. Pete and Una were very welcoming and helped out with things to do in the area. Pub and nice restaurant (N11) all a short walk down the hill . 15 mins to the beach and 20 to glendalough. We stayed with young kids 0, 3 and 7 and there was plenty to do. Would like to come back again.

Amazing property
We had a wonderful stay in Ashford. Pete and Una were wonderful hosts. We felt very much at home. We did, however, have to do a shop for basics cooking products like tea, coffee, salt & pepper, sugar as these were not supplied. But everything else is. Bed linens & towels were of excellent quality and the beds very comfortable. We hope to return in the future.

Una and Pete are spectacular hosts!! The home is fully appointed, furnished beautifully, there is absolutely nothing you need to worry about, it’s all there for you! Bring your family, extended family, enjoy the lovely town, surrounding areas, and the gorgeous scenery! Everything is within a quick walk for a staycation-or if you are the wandering sort, buses can be caught right in the lovely little town (which has fabulous grocery-take away-lively pubs). If you need anything-Una and Pete are a quick chat or call and they will respond immediately (even for silly questions such as how do we operate this or that). We’ve stayed in many places around the globe and by far this was a favorite or every single family member in our group! Energy efficient, plenty of space to spread out, a private garden for outdoor gathering-a bathroom for each room-incredibly comfortable beds, if you’ve imagined a place where the comforts of home are what you seek-Birchhill Lodge is it! Many thanks Una and Pete!!

This is an Opportunity!!!
Four couples (average age 60) received brilliant accommodation within a unique setting. The amenities were second to none. Our hosts Pete and Una were to say the least wonderful. This Ashford home was within Dublins reach, close to several Irish ☘️ must visits (Glendalough, Powerscourt, Wicklow mtns) Dublin being accessible by DART. Truly an opportunity that should not be overlooked. Highly recommended!

Fabulous, quirky large property with absolutetly everything you may require. Ample room for a large gathering...there were 10 of us over from the UK for a family wedding. Lovely firepit in the back yard and great wifi! Hosts lovely and very accomodating. I would highly recommend.

The photos do not do this place justice! There was 12 of us so I was expecting a youth hostel like setting. The place was admazing. The place was not only gorgeous with perfect beds for all of us but it designed by someone with stye. Loved every inch of this house. Privacy and comfort. Plenty of bathrooms including an outside shower. We where all admazed on how nice this place is. We would stay again in a heartbeat 💗 To top it all off it was spotless from the kitchen to the rooms not at a thing out of place. Great location to take day trips from and the town is right down the hill is warm and welcoming. Thank you for sharing your Aloha and your impressive home.

The most AMAZING accomodation
I booked this accomodation to stay at for when I travelled from UK to Wicklow for our wedding at the end of May. Majority of the time was myself, husband our 2 children plus 4 family members. The night before our wedding I had my bridal party stay with me instead which was up to 10 of us. All of which we had the most comfortable stay, each room with their own en suite/ bathroom which were beautifully decorated, 2 huge rooms upstairs which slept 4 adults in each very comfortably The decor is incredible throughout with every feature well thought out! On the morning of my wedding our suppliers came out which was another 7 people and the lodge was still super spacious. Una and Peter were fantastic hosts, ensuring we had everything we needed! We were a short walk into Ashford which is home to a few lovely pubs, cafes and the gorgeous Mount Usher Gardens which does an incredible breakfast. Wicklow town centre was a short drive or taxi away around 10 minutes, which was a bigger town to Ashford with more shops, places to eat etc. All in all a 11/10 stay and will definitely be returning in the future Sinéad & Alex

Special 70th birthday celebrations
Lovely stay in Ashford for long weekend to celebrate my mum’s 70th birthday. Extra Parking spaces available for our family to visit from Dublin. Firewood all provided. Great outside seating area and fire pit. Una and Pete really helpful. Only 1 hour drive from Dublin airport. Plenty shops nearby and amazing mount usher gardens.

Wonderful house
This is a fabulous house for a family or friend get together. The common spaces are open and comfortable for conversation and gathering both inside and outside on the patio. There is a comfy loft area to read or listen to music. Every bedroom has lovely linens and a private bathroom. The kitchen and bathrooms are modern and very clean. Ashford is a great village with interesting shops, restaurants and the beautiful Mt Usher Gardens. Una and Peter are welcoming, gracious hosts.

Flawless experience
From start to finish it was a lovely stay. Irish hospitality at its best. Perfect for our family stay over a few days, including very accommodating for setting up the house for our 8 month old. Beautiful part of Ireland with Ashford village a short walk away. Not to be missed.
