A wonderful find!
I found this hotel purely by chance when I was seeking a stop-over on our journey home from the Alps. Charles, the owner is a very friendly chap who is extremely affable and helpful. The evening meal was a joy, as was the excellent breakfast we had next morning. We will return for sure!

What a great place for a bunch of middle age (or any age) cyclists. well decorated and kept. good arrangement with all those rooms separated off. We all loved it. Didn't make the hill any easier though!

We stayed in the little building next to the main villa, which was described as an upgrade. The stairs to upstairs mezzanine floor with double bed were very steep and I don't recommend it for a family with children or any mobility issues. The room layout was bizzare, interior design very random and the tiniest bathroom and toilet I have ever used, not very comfortable. When I asked if there is a possibility of a check in half an hour later (we wanted to grab dinner on the way), I got a call and text asking to cancel the booking asap, even though the host was around at that time. The town doesn't have any good food options, so unless you decide to eat slightly overpriced food at the villa, you'll end up with pizza or kebab in town. The breakfast was OK, not a great choice for vegetarian, the baguette and croissant were fresh and 'eggs' ordered turned out to be a single fried egg, scrambled not available. Overall not a great choice and we will not be returning. We booked the stay for the villa, ended up in a another building, which didn't feel safe for our family.

HiThank you for your feed back You have booked a room , 30m m2 you have got a loft of 50 m2 with private garden and privat garden.You children look very existing buy that place it was realy an upgraid .we are disappointed with your perception of this upgradeYou were the first guest in that new bulding.The room upsair was only for adults, not for the children, whe specifie this when you check in but you did not follow our recommandation. We will follow your recomandation we wil not accept familly in that bulding since we will be able to close the acces one the 2nd floor for the children. we are 100% agree with you, the 2nd floor is not for the children !I really not agree with you concerning the breakfast : we have cafe, the , hot chocolate, fresh bred and fresh croissants, pain au chocolat, brioche, toast,pancake, cakes, differents sort of cereal, muesly, ham, varius cheese, home made jam, fruits , aple puree, bicuits, fruit juice, fried egs , boiled egs, fried bacon.There is also a lot of restaurant in the village but it was sunday and you araive late without booking

Brilliant Breakfst
Amazing old house with nice grounds in the middle of some more ordinary houses. Be interesting to know the history. Very comfortable but the need to lock up every time we went outside was slightly annoying. Enthusiastic host and a really good breakfast including fresh cooked bacon and eggs to order. Good choice. Wonderful property!
Wonderful host! Friendly and patient. Beautiful property. We stayed in a secondary building. Our apartment was quirky, but it a good way. I wish we could have stayed longer.

A wonderful period property with a rich history. Elegant rooms and original sitting rooms make this one of our favourite places to stay when driving through to the Alps or visiting the Champagne region. Home cooked dinner taken in the rooms with favourably priced champagne is a real treat! For us, breakfast is also a must. Will be staying again.

very helpful staff and excellent breakfast - complete with eggs and bacon! Disappointed that restaurant wasn't open but meal sent to room was very good and excellent value - a cold plate for my husband with charcuterie and cheese and beef with gratin potatoes for me plus tart tartin. We would definitely stay again as it is very convenient for the motorway

Give it a try, a different sort of place to stay
Great place to stop over when travelling north or south on the A26..Nothing like a boring chain hotel. Full of character, quirky, comfortably and with a great breakfast.

The 1st impression was the warmth & welcoming owner Charles and his wife. They make our stay so satisfying and rememberable that we even changed our plans to stay on our return trip, i.e. cancelled our previous booking at another hotel. The home was exquisitely & carefully refurbished to high standard that reflect its history, beautifully executed. I have already highly recommended to friends & travellers.

Refused a late check-in even though we gave advance notice following the instructions in the Expedia confirmation e-mail. Staff was rude, unhelpful and hung up the phone on my wife. Had to drive an extra 5 hours to Calais as no other hotels available

We are a guest housse not a 24h/24h hotel.You accept the booking condition presented by expedia/hotel.com.On the vIllaprimerose the check is possible from 4.30 to 8 pm.We are able to organise a late check in when we are informed in advance, not few minutes or 1 hour before the limit of the chek in time.For security and quality reasons all the conversation are recorded.I have check your conversation with Luc ; Luc was very kind and calm unlike you who was very agressiv and angry.You were screaming all the time "we are the customers you have to manage"For that specific reason Luc doesn't accept to stay till 11pm to welcom you.I completely approve of Luc's decision given your behaviorexpedia/hotel.com confirms that the villaprimerose has respected his commitments

The villa is very beautiful with many interesting pieces of furniture and art pieces. The host, Charles, was charming and helpful. The parking and general amenities were all excellent.

Great stopover
We were given a great welcome by the owner and shown quickly to our room. Dinner at very close restaurant recommended by our host. Great breakfast with plenty of choice. Would stay again when passing and happy to recommend.

It is different and better for it!
A french manor house with all the querky features you could possibly imagine to enjoy. The option to sample local champagne whilst relaxing in the super garden after along drive is a real treat to look forward to. Breakfast was great

Lovely quirky place tucked away in the town centre. Well appointed, spacious rooms. Supper was simple, delicious and reasonably priced. Breakfast was a big disappointment - better to breakfast out.

Fabulous,such a refreshing change from hotel chains,bags of character and an owner who deleights in making you feel welcome and wants you to enjoy his hotel.Lovely grounds to stroll around before enjoying a simple dinner on the terrace with a glass,or two,of local wine.

Fabulous chateau in quiet area. Not far from motorway and perfect for overnight stay. Secure parking, very clean and the host was really helpful and welcoming. We were offered an evening meal at an extra cost when we arrived which was served outside on the terrace which was lovely and meant we didn’t have to try to find a local restaurant.

Gorgeous old villa, the manor house for an old brewery destroyed during the war, (being) renovated as an excellent B&B, near Troyes. Beautiful spacious rooms, lovely antique furnishings, wonderful clawfoot bathtub; bounteous buffet breakfast; charming host and hostess. Now on my list as one of my all-time favorite B&Bs; we will be back sometime to explore more of Troyes and the Champagne area.

What an amazing experience staying here!! Beautiful hotel and gardens. The lady who met us was welcoming and friendly and when we had a small issue as we brought our dog and on the Expedia website it isn’t clear how to add a pet (maybe something to think about) they sorted it very easily and in such a lovely way - after a long drive from the UK that day the place was exactly what we needed relaxing and perfect! The breakfast in the morning too was fantastic. Thank you very much for the stay we will return!
