“Class and convenience”

A member of the cleaning crew saw me from a distance walking down the hall with luggage. He casually pressed the elevator call button and continued his work. All members of the staff made eye contact and greeted guests, always curious if they could help accomadate me. Very refreshing compared to the detached employees in other facilities.

Area recommendations

Midtown. Renting a car is well worth it as the transit system and cabs are poor. Some rental car companies are offering studded tires which I would recommend during the winter months. Anchorage drivers are much more laid back than in the lower 48.

What to pack

If you go in winter take an oversized coat or pick one up at one of the second hand stores. You can always donate it back when you leave.

“Great For The Price”

If you are going on a cruise, the Walmart Store is very close by to pick up last minute things. Movie Theater complex is right behind the Hotel. The Staff was very friendly and helpful. Restaurants close by also. Breakfast was adequate to start the day.

Dining

Definately go to the Mooses Tooth for Pizza and homemade Creme Soda. The Outback is also across the street.

“Customer service please”

Hotel itself comfortable and clean - suites very spacious and well appointed. Not as close to 'downtown' as expected from website. On arrival (mid morning, so yes little early) had to almost 'beg' information about leaving baggage, accessing washroom, and getting to downtown etc. Front desk not terribly friendly or helpful or knowledgable. Most disappointed in 'efficiency' of service, not hotel. Airport shuttle a benefit.

Area recommendations

Stay closer to downtown for dining options if you do not have own transport - 30 -35 minute walk.

“Great Hotel”

We were very pleased with this hotel. After reading passed comments we were a little concerned. When we arrived we were thrilled with our room. They had just remodeled 8 months prior to our stay. It was clean and spacious. Nice to have a wet bar in the room. Beds were very comfortable. It was a great stay in Anchorage. Staff was very nice. Thank you!

“Wont go here again!”

This place was good to come and pck us up from the train station. When we got to the hotel we asked them to take us to the airport in the morning. They said we were on the list to go. When we got down there in the morning they said that we were not on the shuttle list for that time and so they wouldnt take us to the airport. Because of that we ended up missing our flight.

“ALASKA'S BEST !!!!”

we loved it, the whirlpool and pool were great after a long day of sightseeing!. close to lots of restaurants and shopping stores. Everyone in the hotel was very helpful and they had a shuttle to downtown ifyou didnt have a car of if you were going on a tour, they would get you to the pickup spot. They were all very accomodating. Would highly recommend.They had a cont. breakfast that was more than i had ever seen anywhere else at a hotel,would stay here again.

“Would definitely recommend to anyone!”

This hotel was more than satisfactory for us. The rooms were very large and very comfortable. The price we received was very good for the area. Convenience of location was perfect - not downtown where you have to pay to park, and not crowded with Cruise people. The only restaurants around were chain restaurants with an Outback right across the street. I know some people don't like the chains, but we find most of them more dependable than some of the places we never heard of before. We would most definitely recommend this to anyone traveling to this area. Free breakfast, free wi-fi (which worked quite well), free parking. Staff were helpful and very friendly as well.
