The staff at this Yays location were very helpful. They helped explain how the parking/ transportation works, gave me pointers for food and grocery for the baby, and their coffee at the reception desk is great. The rooms are amazing with blackout curtains and a full kitchen. Totally worth the price.

Very well designed studio apartment (could have slept a lot more than the three of us) that have everything we needed. It was well kept and suited us very well. Tall ceilings let in a lot of light and clever use of a mezzanine to create space for three comfortable beds (but did wonder if sleeping up there would be comfortable on a hot summer jight)

It was super dusty...like...the worst I'd ever seen in a hotel. In fact my kids, wife, & I all woke up with runny noses from how little the room had been dusted lately. What else...I slept on the pullout couch & the sheets were really itchy to the point I thought the couch had f******* bed bugs. My daughter also remarked once we got back to the United States how the beds made her feel like she had bed bugs also. This was a full day later after we had left the hotel when she said that. Also when sleeping on the pullout couch every time I rolled over it was so damn creaky it was akin to a WWII tank with how much it squeaked. It would wake up my family up above in the loft area as I rolled over. Sleeping at the Yays Martime Amsterdam was easily a *top-5* worst nights of sleep in my life outside of my kids being born. There was soap scum on the bathroom counter. The bathroom would easily flood because the lip for the shower was so small. Lastly just looking around you could tell that things hadn't been cleaned in awhile. Overall grime on many items. We stayed 2 nights and after the first night I seriously thought about eating the money & staying at the DoubleTree instead for an extra $400 more. That's how much I hated it. I intentionally structured our day so we would stay out exploring the city so we wouldn't have to spend time in the room. Once it was time to check out I was happy to leave. Truly one of the worst hotel experiences of my 38-year life.

Great apartment, and although not super central location, public transport options are super convenient, so definitely not a problem. The area is beautiful and quiet. The apartment was a delight and very spacious. Definitely recommend it.

Great place to stay in Amsterdam
While this place is not in the "heart of it", it is a great location very close to all the transportation options you could want. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is only a 7 minute bus ride to central station where you can pick up the tram, the train or information on tours. There are 2 grocery store options just a few minutes way away and restaurants all around. If we find our selves in Amsterdam again we will definitely stay here again.

Our stay here was ok. Was a very nice view from window and convenient to have a kitchen. Staff was really lovely. However overall it is too overpriced for what you get (not really a 4 star hotel, not super clean, etc). Biggest problem for us was that the Wifi did not work at all on the second floor of the "loft" which is where the bedroom is, so we could only use internet in the kitchen.

A great base to explore Amsterdam and out of the way enough to be pretty quiet. The apartment setup suited us perfectly as we could really relax when we wanted to. Didn't get to make use of the bike hire, but definitely will next time.

The staff was very helpful and the welcome book has everything you need. A 25 minute bus ride into the core of Amsterdam that was easily navigated with 1 bus. One note of concern: they offer bikes for 10 euro however the bikes are in need of servicing. We had to get through 3 bikes before we found 2 that worked and even then one of the bikes had a broken brake mechanism which we realized into our ride. Thankfully a local helped us otherwise is would have been unrideable.

Lovely area, not too busy but easy to get to everything. Shops and cafes nearby. Helpful concierges. The only small issue was how hot and stuffy the apartment was, despite the provision of fans.

Nice place but lacks transparency.
Nice place, Not the greatest location. My only big complaint is that neither the hotel nor Hotels.com told us before that there is no cleaning service. You need to make your bed and if you need towels , you must go downstairs and ask for them. They leave you on your own. I think for the price ( not cheap) the least they could do was advise beforehand.

The property looks lovely, it’s in a great location and the people at the main desk are incredibly friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, there was an extremely unpleasant smell coming from our bathroom the entire time we stayed in the hotel and the lift is also extremely slow and noisy. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay!

We had a wonderful two night stay here. The apartments are perfect for families and couples. Close enough to the city but out of the chaos. Restaurants close by as well as a grocery shop. Would highly recommend this property.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was away from the busy tourist areas but there were local places to eat and drink. The staff was super helpful with recommendations for breakfast and dinner and groceries.

YAYS is in a great location, close to excellent restaurants at all price levels, close to great public transportation, close enough to walk to the Central Station (about 30 minutes). Equipped with kitchens, all the rooms afford the opportunity to cook some meals in your room (we splurged on restaurant lunches but made dinners "in house"). Staff is friendly and helpful (one staff member made renting bikes from YAYS an easy process, and gave us good tips on navigating the often busy bike lanes). Our room was on the third floor, and the single elevator is both s-l-o-w and noisy, so we opted to always walk the stairs. High recommend nearby Frank's Smoke House and the d & a hummus bistro (outstanding Middle Eastern food). Great walking neighborhood.

The Yay's apartment was a really good stay. It was one of our favorites. Shoutouts to Emily and Mario for making the stay so enjoyable and so easy to communicate with. The location of the apartments is also great as it is still walkable to the rest of the city. Approximately 30 mins to Amsterdam Central Station and about a 10 min bus ride. Street parking is super easy as well. I rent a car for two days and was able to find parking directly across the street from the apartments. Bonus points for having a laundry facility.

The lady that checked us in was very friendly, helpful and informative. The room itself was good but not as clean as it should have been. Very dusty. Plates in the cupboard had food on them. The shower flooded the bathroom.

Good find, good location
Walking distance from the main part of Amsterdam Central but away enough to quiet. On a bus route to the station as well. Located in an very nice part of the centre, close to the windmill and other amenities needed. We saw some lovely parts of the city away from the main tourist drag. Loved the apartment option too. Staff on hand if needed, all lovely and helpful. Definitely go back.

Comfortable stay
Nice accommodation and no issues. Great location a minute from the bus and tram stops. Friendly staff and had everything we need. Inclusive Nespresso pods and coffee in the reception was a nice touch. Only small issue was the flooring in the room was starting to lift off - not quite at the stage where is was going to be a trip hazard but needs attention soon. Also usual problem of shower not draining water quickly enough, but wasn't bad enough for us to report to housekeeping.

Average Hotel - not a 4 star or above.
We stayed at this hotel, and we were given a room that was not cleaned properly. However, we were changed to another room that was in a better condition. Also, the walls are not insulated properly and we could hear everything from the street and the room above. That was not cool and very inconvenient. The staff was very attentive - specially Emily. She was great.

The front desk reception was very helpful. We were provided with a map and several recommended public transportation lines to get to museums and tourist destinations. The location is in a residential neighborhood, not quite as busy as downtown. The area is scenic, water is on either side of Oostenburgergracht. There are groceries within walking distance, a bus stop just in front of the hotel and a tram within a few minutes walking distance. Central station was 10-15 minutes by bus and Rijksmuseum was easily accessible by tram.
