Myself and two friends stayed there in a three person room. It’s not the fanciest in the world but it was in a great location 10-20 minutes walking to pretty much everything. It worked for our needs and the beds were very comfy!!

Staff were great, location was great. Hotel needs renovations as there was a water leak in the ceiling in our room which was dripping, wallpaper was falling off the walls and the shower head was mouldy and had no pressure.

This hotel is great for a short stay and if you have minimal luggage. The hotel staff was excellent and kind as well as the cleaning staff. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable, the best bed I've had yet on my Europe venture. I was lucky enough to have a room with windows or the place would've felt even smaller. It is a tiny room and the building its self my be outdated and in need of a few more modern touches, but they do have everything you need, comfort, kindness, and cleanliness.

Perfect for a short stay, with easy access to the city centre and transport, or even walkable. The room was well equipped and clean. My only minor criticism would be that the lighting in the room was quite dim, but by no means a problem. I’d recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a convenient cost effective stay in Amsterdam.

PROS: More affordable than other hotels. It is close and within walking distance to the museums, attractions, etc. We checked our luggage in early when we got to Amsterdam. Bed was OK. CONS: Person at the counter was arguing with a customer when we walked in. Really noisy. Almost like there was a window open or no window at all. Can hear everything out in the street at all hours. Our floor in the room had a large spongy feel which we tried to avoid walking on. We also got hit with a "resort fee" when there are literally no amenities. Perhaps shower soap was the amenity. Why is there a profiteering fee? No coffee in the room, no breakfast, if you want a coffee, it was one Euro. If you want to go cheap, you might as well get a hostel for a better experience, or get a better name brand hotel.

The room was infested with mold and it was not smelling good. Same thing was noticed on the bathroom. AC also was not working properly. Luckily we stayed there just one night

The hotel was in a good location but was on a major street and could hear traffic and people outside talking until at least 23:00 every night.

Location was good, room was small but two issues. The air conditioning didn’t work, even though the staff said that’s the way it works. It was cooler in the hallway than our room. We had to sleep almost naked with the covers off to try to stops sweating. Most of the TV channels didn’t work. Not even BBC1. The vending machine was broken and the Espresso coffee cost €1 a cup.

Stayed here during a 20-hour layover in Amsterdam and absolutely loved it! It was my first time in Amsterdam and I really wish my wife and I could've stayed longer. The hotel is close to a bunch of landmarks, museums, strips of restaurants, etc. Lots of hustle and bustle nearby. Rooms were clean, and the bed was the comfiest one we slept in during our 2-week Europe trip! The room was a little small but the layout made it seem bigger than it was. Nice bathrooms and shower. I will DEFINITELY stay here again on my next visit to Amsterdam!

This was a pleasant stay right at the tram stop in a delightful western neighborhood of Amsterdam with lots of cafes and shops. Young people were hanging out chatting in the lobby and outside. Room was noisy from motorcycle and scooter traffic at pizza delivery place next door.

The cleanliness was so so. Bathroom toilet seat was dirty and water kettle had rusty water with particles inside it. The lighting in the bathroom was terrible- non functional dark and dim. The bathroom shelf underneath the mirror is badly positioned as you hit your head on after rinsing your face in the sink. The single bed in a 3 person bedroom was extremely narrow and only 1 tiny pillow. The towels were not changed after the 1st night. The room overall was modern and the bathroom too. The floor was clean.

The hotel room itself was ok - very small, not enough room to set out your suitcase and leave it, but it was fine. The area around the hotel is dirty. Garbage in the street and on the sidewalk. The air conditioning broke before we arrived and the windows in our room were inoperable. After one night with a fan which was miserable, the hotel management gave us a full refund for our next two nights of reservation to find a hotel with air.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Espresso! The room was very small, but we booked as a place to sleep after long days exploring, so it did the job well! The only complaint would be that the elevator was broken for most of our stay, and getting big suitcases up and down the little stairs was a challenge. Overall a very good experience!
