Came to visit the Christmas market and found the Mercure an ideal hotel for our two night stay. Modern hotel, rooms were spotless, very comfortable beds with extra pillows available, lovely shower, and having hot drinks facilities in the room was a bonus. Very quiet location but right in the heart of the town, just one minute from the cathedral and five form the market. Excellent breakfast which had everything you could wish for.
Cannot fault it. Highly recommended.
Very friendly and helpful staff, easiest check-in ever, and facilities explained very quickly. Knowledgable about the local area and more than happy to point us in the right direction. Breakfast was great!! Would stay again and would send my best mate there after. Bravo!
We were lucky enough to be given a room which was very recently renovated and it was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was brilliant with a great shower and lovely facilities . The staff were very helpful and friendly and breakfast was a very comprehensive selection. The hotel has a lovely old world character about it which we loved. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who stays in Amiens.
The BEST WESTERN Grand Hotel de l'Univers is a calm and comfortable hotel with classical French decoration. We are situated …More
Rather inexpensive hotels do not get much better than this. Beyond being a very new hotel, the room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean. Moreover, the kitchen was well stocked and perfectly adequate for most cooking needs of a traveling. The bed and television were also very good for the hotel room rates.
If you want to find a flaw with the hotel, you could claim that the hotel is one of the new hotels that is lacking aesthetic charm. And I’ll admit that the hotel is rather lacking in personality, it a similar way that most new hotels have a rather generic character. However, given the rates that this hotel is charging, I’ll accept this limitation. It would be VERY hard to find a hotel this inexpensive that provides much aesthetic charm.
In the end, it is very hard to fault this hotel.
This is a very clean, comfortable, well located hotel right at the train station and within walking distance of Central Amiens. Deal staff were very helpful speaking English. I can not say the same for the restaurant. As our first experience of French food it was very disappointing. The fish dinner was ok but the vegetables had been murdered and the salad was old and slimy, the meal was expensive. I wouldn't eat there again.
