“A gorgeous hotel”

I've visited the Vilalara four times now and each visit has been a joy. The hotel itself is beautiful - lovely low-rise buildings in exquisitely landscaped gardens, with stunning cliff-top views out to sea. The rooms are extremely comfortable and luxurious, the staff are delightful and the service is excellent.

““Lovely hotel, but beware food & drinks are too expensive!!!!””

Hotel is set in an ideal location with beautiful gardens and sandy beach in a alcove. Buffet breakfast includes a wide choice. However, the many fruit flies landing on the food served in the dining area puts you off. WHY do they not do something about this??? Cover it up please....Very unhygienic!!! Stayed in Junior suite with a great large balcony. Weather was really hot during our stay and must say the Air conditioning in the room was the best ever expirenced. Food & drink in pool area was ridiculously expensive as was the main restaurant! Recommend Mirasy's Restaurante 10 minutes walk away. Will come back but will eat outside the hotel in future.

“Great stay!”

Excellent stay at the hotel over Easter break. Surroundings are absolutely lovely, with lush gardens, swimming pools overlooking the ocean, breath-taking ocean view!! Room in a Junior suite was very spacious, with huge bed + big couch, coffee table, desk, his&her closets, big balcony! For once, things looked better for real than in pictures on the web. Very quiet, intimate resort - not great if you're with a group of youngsters looking for lots of places to go out and have fun. Excellent for couples or families.

“Heavenly Relaxation”

Idyllic scenery, gardens, view. Service impeccable. Excellent spa and treatments. Only the restaurant not perfect for us. Spa menu 800 cal/ day has to be ordered a day in advance. Few other healthy /plain options. Slow serious and complicated sums up the rest of it. When excellent fresh ingredients are available they dont need froth, foam, smears and spots!!

“Expensive BUT Worth It”

My first visit to Vilalara Thalassa Resort 4 years ago was disappointing because I was put in a smoking room, but this time around they no longer have smoking room and the experience was so much better. They have vastly improved the rooms which are very chic. The dining was very enjoyable and the staff very friendly. I will definitely return next year despite it being quite expensive because it's worth every penny.

“Beautifully presented hotel and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful”

Everything about this hotel is fabulous. It can be expensive but frankly the quality is exceptional. Be ready for a high cost but you will get service and quality to match the price. The hotel and grounds excell what you see on the website.

The Algarve has a wide variety of interesting places and the food and entertainment is of a very good standard

“Wonderful experience; we'll be back!”

There was plenty of staff to accomodate all needs and comfort. They were all very attentive, polite and spoke English very well. The resort was beautiful and cared for well. This will be a regular destination for us!

“Quiet relaxing break”

Went to Thalassa Resort for 5 nights in October 2009 with my partner and 10 year old daughter and had a wonderful time. We thought the hotel was excellent and we certainly experienced 5 star treatment . One critisism is the pool temperature, out of the 5 pools only the small one is heated and the others are absolutely freezing so were too cold to use. Also we had an afternoon coffee for 2 and a milk shake at a cost of 15 euros whilst i do understand you are in a five star hotel i think they would attract more sales if they made the price of food and drink a little more acceptable. We dined next door for 3 nights at Vila Vita Parc which i can highly recommend. However overall i would say the Thalasa is definitely worth a visit.

Vlia Vita Parc is worth dining, they have four restuarants and are not just for their hotel guests but recommend you book

“A beautiful, discrete, haven”

On first arrival this hotel appears to be too understated, but you will not be dissapointed as you discover the beauty of its service, gardens beach and interior design. The feel of the place is very relaxed and comfortable, and the prvate beach is absolutely gorgeous; you will feel pampered all the way. It is expensive, but this level of privacy and service will never come cheap.

Traveller's tip

The hotel runs complimentary daily classes such as aqua yoga, body conditioning, etc, these are virtually one to one and expertly taught. Also 4 tennis courts so take your tennis racqets.

“Most relaxing hotel”

We were so impressed with both the hotel and the staff at Vilalara. It is such a beautiful setting and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff were so friendly, attentive, and anticipated our needs. I would definitely recommend Vilalara to anyone!
