Wonderful return to Casa Bonita
Lovely villa with exceptional pool and beautiful views. This is the third time we have stayed at the villa and have really enjoyed ourselves each time. Close to Luz and Burgau for plenty of places to eat and drink.

Amazing Algarve
The photos really don't do the view justice - it's cinematic and incredible. A short walk to the little restaurant in the community for coffee in the morning, a very short drive to Luz and its restaurants & grocery. A great gas stove, the pool and 30+mbps wifi made this the perfect spot for a week - really thought about staying another week!

Casa Bonita
What a property! What magnificent views! We had such a wonderful experience at the villa. Its spacious, clean & incredibly comfortable. We were a group of 7 & there was plenty of space for all of us. The heated pool is stunning with plenty of lounging space around it. Communication with the hosts was quick & easy. The surrounding area of the villa is quiet & safe with some amazing views. Its also a short Uber ride into Praia da Luz. Our group would highly recommend this wonderful property and would love to stay there again.

Family Vacation
The villa is beautiful both inside and out. The views are spectacular. The photos don't do it justice. The sunrise in the morning is breathtaking. There were 6 adults in our group, and there was plenty of space for everyone. I opted to pay the extra to have the AC & pool heated. It was extremely hot when we were there, so the AC was greatly appreciated. I don't think we needed to have the pool heated. It was almost too hot to swim in (not very refreshing). Neil was great at communicating and was quick to anwer my while I found the listing to be quite accurate, the bed in the master is not a king bed, but rather a small queen / large fouble. This appliers to the bed in the other bedromm.

The pool can always be turned down as needed to get you a more refreshing dip! Please feel free to adjust on the pool dial always, we make that completely accessible to guests!! We're so glad to hear you enjoyed so much. Just for clarity on the bed measurements both our principal suites have European King sized beds in them as would be expected for our location. Very windy location
The place itself is just as pictured, very spacious, very clean. The host was very easy to reach. When we only had 4 towels for 7 people he had the extra towels delivered the next day. The only down side to this rental is the location. It was SO windy we couldn't enjoy the outdoor area much past 5 or 6 as it got really cold...and we're from canada, so no outdoor dining, very little swimming. Much of the best parts of the property were unusable. None of the other reviews stress how windy and cool it is here. I just wanted to make others aware of this as it was a big disappointment for us. The location outside of Luz and 15 minutes drive from Lagos is also something to be aware of. We got tired of having to drive everywhere especially when finding parking near the beach is very difficult and frustrating, something you don't need on your vacation.

I was delighted to hear you found the house and cleanliness as you expected and that Neil sorted out the towel issue quickly. I'm so sorry to hear your weather report - gosh that sounds so incredibly unusual for July/August in Luz! We normally find some guests like air con in these months as despite the breeze it's still pretty warm. We've not come across a scenario where guests felt unable to use the outdoor areas and pool in the summer ever before. Our family were there in July and spent evenings on the terrace and days in the pool as normal. Sorry to hear you felt you couldn't make the most of it - we'd love to host you again in the future and hopefully you'll have a very different experience to this. With respect to location, we love where we are approx 2km outside Luz for the peace and quiet and the views. There's a walk along the cliff top path into Luz that is approx 20-25 mins which we often do if we don't want to drive or we drive in, leave the car for the evening and take one of the plentiful taxis home after dinner walking back in the following morning for ice creams before we collect the car. We haven't experienced issues parking in Luz either at the promenade or at the beach end. I'm glad you had a lovely stay but we'd love to host you again in the future so you can make the best of our wonderful home. Best wishes, Jennifer

Beautiful villa - Gorgeous views
Loved it! We're 4 couples who thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The villa is immaculate, spacious and located higher up so the views are excellent. The property manager was very responsive to every query. We didn't rent a car, but the walk to Luz was manageable. We would stay here again.

Fabulous villa, stunning views, peaceful location
We have stayed in Casa Bonita many times over the years and love the location. The villa was spotlessly clean on arrival and is well equipped. It is a couple of miles from Luz, just a short car journey to shops, restaurants and bars. It is also easily walkable following the coastline if you are feeling in need of exercise. The owner has provided new outdoor sofas on the covered terrace which are super comfortable and our go to spot for coffee or glass of wine, shaded from the sun and out of the sometimes chilly wind. Sit here and you have an uninterrupted view of the sea and the many little boats that pass by. It is a delight. The owner is quick to respond to any issues that arise and is always very helpful. One of the big advantages here is the pool. It is large enough for proper swimming or just lazing around and enjoying the sun. I must mention Cafe Bombordo, our favourite place in Luz to get coffee, fresh orange juice, a vast array of food options or wine and cocktails. Sit outside this busy cafe a short stroll from the seafront and watch the world go by. If you want a restaurant serving more elaborate dishes, I can recommend Jacaranda where the menu offers lot of choice and the service is second to none. Casa Bonita will not disappoint and we will definitely return as soon as we can. Many thanks to Jennifer and Neil for their help in making our holiday so enjoyable.

Amazing stay
Highly recommend. The pictures do not do this place justice. The location, views, layout of the house were all beyond our expectations. I wish our stay there was longer. Our group of 8 had plenty of space to come together and to spread out. The pool was great. The house was clean and well-kept. The location, though not in town, had views that couldn't be beat and was central to all the locations we visited. The host were quick to respond to the only issue we had (internet password was incorrect).

Amazing Views
Loved this property for its views, amenities and cleanliness. The pool was heated and the home had air conditioning (both of which we paid for with a small additional amount). The rooms had amazing views over the water from up above the cliffs. There were walking paths that provided easy walks to Luz and for exercise. We had the desperate couples share the property without issue. Any challenges we had were quickly dealt with by the management team.

Views were better than listing showed. Well- appointed home. Neil was very helpful and responsive. Quick service on appliances with which we were having problems. Comfortable for five older male family members. Great family house with nice walk to oceanfront and town. I would stay in this house again should i visit portugal again.

A wonderful property with a view that makes a vacation a cut above. When arriving, note that Google maps takes you to an empty lot on the street below the house. Our sons hired a car to go to the airport and after wondering why he was 15 minutes late, we discovered him waiting on the street below. The hosts' directions are correct, but we tend to rely on big tech, which can be quite fallible. I highly recommend this property for a family vacation.

Amazing sea view house
Beautiful very clean house in a very quiet neighborhood with the most amazing view of the sea. The house was spacious with a nice size heated pool, and balconies close to everything by car. An old favourite
We have stayed here many times and regard Casa Bonita as ideal for our needs. It's in a quiet location a couple of miles outside Praia Da Luz in a cul de sac. There's little traffic to spoil the peace and the views are glorious. The pool is a good size for swimming and can be covered to retain heat. The "veranda" which overlooks the pool has become our favourite spot for breakfast and coffee in the morning followed by a glass of wine in the evening and it catches the sun as it moves East to West. It gives a unobscured view of the sea too. It can be windy at times so the shelter it provides is very welcome. The Portuguese style BBQ just outside the kitchen is big and generates a lot of heat quickly. There are two large tables outside if you want a meal in the sun. Inside, the villa is cool even on a hot day and there are several comfortable sofas in the large lounge. There's a new LG flat screen, smart TV with all the streaming services you would expect. There's also a dining room for when you want to eat inside. The kitchen is well equipped and capable of cooking any type of meal you might fancy. The bedrooms are generous and the beds very comfortable. On arrival we found the villa spotlessly clean, (as expected) with plenty of towels. Downstairs, the floors are tiled and easy to clean any spillages but it's worth taking care if your feet are wet as it's easy to skid on the shiny surface. Luz has all the shops needed from 2 supermarkets, a fishmonger, pharmacy, many bars, cafes and restaurants. If you need some flip flops or a beach mat, there's a shop that sells a vast array of holiday items. Luz is a lovely town and not so large that it overwhelms you. The beach is ideal for families and parking is free with few roads in which it's not possible to find a space. The western end of the Algarve has some stunning beaches, particularly on the Atlantic coast so it is well worth exploring beyond Luz. The property owner is great and over the years we have found any issues that crop up are dealt without delay. We intend to book again for next year so it's fair to say Casa Bonita comes highly recommended.

Luxury Living in Luz
We have stayed in multiple places in Luz. If you've never been here, it is a secret paradise off-season. I can't imagine it in the summer with all the people but Jan-Mar it is absolute paradise. The views from the pool area and upstairs bedrooms are fantastic. The location is more eastward of the main town but a nice, healthy walk and you'll be there. We loved the coastal trails by the villa and enjoyed the sunrises and moonrises over the Atlantic Ocean. The artwork inside is fantastic. I was even able to find the artist in Lagos and acquire some of her artwork. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful villa with us!!

The villa is large and very comfortable, with everything you will need. We enjoyed our stay quite a bit; the younger ones (14 and 9) loved the pool. We liked that it’s a bit removed yet close from town. The only drawback of the location is that it can get rather windy in the evening, so we could not enjoy our dinners outside/ hang out outside at that time of the day. Overall a great place. (There was an issue with the wifi that got resolved timely)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is very tastefully yet practically furnished making it very comfortable for our family. We had family coming from 3 different continents and couldn't have picked a better place. Luz area is very beautiful and we enjoyed our visits to Sarges, Lagos and surrounding towns and beaches. The cliff walks though truly was the most memorable experience. We for sure recommend the house highly for anyone looking for a relaxing vacation. The only caution is to make sure that you plan for your food and grocery as there isn't a store or restaurant nearby. But that should hardly be a constraint to enjoy this lovely place.

The cliff top walks are amazing and I'm so pleased your family found the house so comfortable and practical - we often travel as a large family group so we've tried to make sure the house is well able to cater for a crowd of all ages. I've included details of the nearest supermarkets in our welcome packs online and in the house. I'm sorry if this wasn't more obvious in our guide, I'll take a look and see if we can highlight these better. We do recommend a car to make your stay more practical and the fantastic Baptista supermarket with a range of fresh bread, meat, fruit and vegetables is less than a 5 minute drive from the house. They can also deliver an extensive range direct from the store to you either by ordering online or calling in to them on a walk from the villa. There are numerous restaurants in Luz and Lagos although as you stayed over the Christmas period some of these family establishments may well have been closed. We have stayed at this Villa quite a few times and it never disappoints. The location is excellent, just outside Luz, with outstanding views of the sea. The accommodation is very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The owner is quick to respond to any issue that may arise so nothing is allowed to spoil the holiday. The pool can be heated and certainly beats a dip in the sea which is chilly to say the least. The Portuguese BBQ provides the authentic charcoal flavour but as the sun sinks a bit earlier than in the UK it's best to start early to avoid cooking by torchlight. We love this villa and have already booked two more visits for 2020 knowing we won't be disappointed.

Hard to fault.
In fact I cannot fault the villa which is spotlessly clean and well equipped. The location is lovely with great views but, being elevated, is prone to the wind which can be hard to escape and on this trip it was coming from a northerly direction so was a tad chilly. Nevertheless we really enjoyed our stay and will happily rebook again packing appropriate clothing just in case the north wind doth blow.

Our Family Loved It!
The location and setting are amazing. Far enough away from Lagos for that small town feel, but close enough for tours and amenities. The house itself is gorgeous. Plus the view from every south facing window is jaw dropping. Each room is spacious and has its own bathroom. This is an ideal facility for large groups. In my case my family, which really enjoyed the house and pool. The contact for this house for us was Jennifer, and she is amazing. Any questions I had she already has a guide book in the house, plus she responds as if she’s waiting by her email just in case she needs contacting. I loved this because I felt if anything were to go wrong she would have a fix or solution immediately! On a personal note, the way I like to travel is to never see the same thing twice. This house, along with the Algarve, might just break my travel habits as I would love to stay here again.

Very beautiful, well cared for home in a great location.
House was comfortable and spacious. It was an easy drive/walk to Luz for restaurants,can grocery store, etc. Several nice beaches in the area and pretty local hikes. Easy to get around.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Bonita. The pool was larger than expected and my 6 year old son spent as much time as he could playing and learning to swim. Jennifer was so quick and accommodating to any questions we had. We loved having the cleaners come to clean and freshen towels during our 3 week stay. The house is set up really well for families and we greatly appreciated all the information they provided on the area and the house itself. There were so many great restaurants to explore, especially the nearest town of Luz. I would highly recommend this property.

We had a wonderful time! We were a party of 7 adults. The accommodations were perfect. Plenty of space for everyone. The pool was to die for! We spent a lot of our time just relaxing at the pool with its beautiful view. We also like to cook in and according to our chef it was a very well appointed kitchen. The beds and linens were very comfortable and all of the property was exceptionally clean! I don't do reviews very often, so it is something for me to give such high praise review!! Casa Bonita is a beautiful villa in a great location with absolutely stunning views!
We spent a week in this little corner of paradise and just loved it. Casa Bonita is close to the many sites and beautiful beaches in the area which allowed us to visit the seaside towns and sites in the morning, lunch in some of the local patios overlooking the sea, and spend our afternoons by the gorgeous pool. We were there the first week of October and enjoyed perfect weather. The owner, Jennifer was quick to respond to any questions or issues we had. The kitchen was well equipped, although we did minimal cooking, we particularly enjoyed the cappuccino machine. The layout of the villa, with each of the four bedrooms having its own bathroom was great, providing the four of us with our own private space. One suggestion we would offer is to upgrade the bed linens, particularly the pillows. All in all a spectacular holiday here and would jump at the chance to revisit.

Stunning
This was our second visit to Casa Bonita and we were not dissapointed, we love this villa, so clean and comfortable with everything you could wish for. Excellent kithen fully equipped, great BBQ for outside dining, and the pool with that view is something else. I reccomend you have the pool heating and aircon for that extra bit of luxury, and you will need a car and that's it, welcome to Nirvana !

Stunning views, great location
Had an amazing holiday. Spent a lot of time in the pool as we were so lucky with the weather. Walked along the coast to Bergau, but you need to be sure footed. Super lunch in a local fish restaurant. Also walked into Luz. Which was a slightly easier route. A visit to Lagos too. Dined in the Dolphin in Luz on our last night. Superb.

Outstanding accommodation close to Luz
This was a really great place to stay in August, just outside the town so away from the peak season crowds. Excellent, spacious accommodation (we were 6 adults plus one teenager), great pool, well equipped kitchen, fabulous view. Easy access to the beaches west of Luz. Very efficient for booking and information.

Perfect peace
Once again, Case Bonita did not disappoint. On arrival we found the villa spotlessly clean and during our stay we had ample clean towels and a change of bed linen and the floors and bathrooms were cleaned. This is a lovely location with great views, a generous pool and little noise to disturb a relaxing stay. Jennifer is a responsive owner and a pleasure to deal with. We will be back for another helping of calm comfort as soon as we can.

Just perfect
This was our second stay at Casa Bonita and we will be back for more. The villa is lovely, the views are to die for and the heated pool a delight. Every day I've been in the pool as dawn broke. Seeing a sky full of stars slowly change to a fiery orange and watching the sun rise in the East is a magical experience that's worth getting out of bed for even though the beds are very comfortable. It's a very peaceful location where you can relax and take meals on the terrace whilst soaking up the sea views. Luz is close by and offers all most people need to ensure a perfect holiday Jennifer is a fabulous owner who responds very quickly to any enquiry or problem. In short, Casa Bonita is so good we really would prefer you book elsewhere so that it remains available for us.

Another wonderful week at Casa Bonita
Once again we have returned after a wonderful week of stunning views, lovely pool and glorious sunshine. The villa was just as I remembered, a real home from home, with everything you need to enjoy your stay, I didn't read much of my book as I wanted to drink in the views and not miss a minute of the stunning surroundings. Wonderful
Had a wonderful stay at this lovely villa, it is huge, light and airy with a well equipped kitchen. We particularly liked to have our morning coffee on our master suite balcony looking at the stunning views. The swimming pool was a big hit with our three year old grandson, we couldn't get him out of it! We also made great use of the BBQ, and recommend the meat from the Baptista supermarket and fish from their shop nearby. As we didn't have a car, we did a large shop on our arrival day which they delivered around an hour later, and we did online top ups throughout the week. We ate out in Lagos, Luz and Burgau using taxis which are inexpensive. All in all it was a perfect holiday with great communication from Jennifer.

Fantastic family getaway
We stayed at Casa Bonita in September 2016 for two weeks to celebrate my mothers 60th birthday. With this being a significant birthday we were hoping for a villa that would give the family a unforgettable holiday which would be fondly remembered and Casa Bonita did not disappoint! from the spacious and comfortable bedrooms (all ensuite) to the outside pool/bbq area where the views will simply take your breath away. Luz is a short drive or 25/30 minute walk where it is home to some lovely bars and restaurants. Our personal favourites were the Dolphin, which done a great steak and amazing ribs. There is also Chiccas which is a bit more intimate with lovely hearty food, both of which were visited on more than one occasion throughout our two week stay. Casa Bonita comfortable housed three couples and a 17 month old baby where a cot and high chair were provided as well as a toy box that had her entertained for the whole holiday. As well as being able to enjoy our own amazing pool, a short five minute walk away is a larger communal pool with Unspoilt views of the sea, wonderful bar and friendly staff serving delicious cocktails, cold beers on tap and a range of light snacks. My family and I would have no hesitation in returning to Casa Bonita. Finally I would like to say a special thank you to Jennifer whom from our first initial enquiry to during our stay was extremely warm and efficient when dealing with any queries we had. Also her amazing attention to detail with our information pack she so kindly put together was hugely helpful.

Casa Bonita is a beautiful villa in a fantastic location.
We are a family of 5 who went on a last minute holiday the last week of August to Luz and we were not disappointed. In fact the photographs on the website do not do the property justice, it was even better than we expected. The villa has amazing views over the coast of Portugal and a lovely pool, which we opted to get heated. The villa was clean and really well equipped. It was an incredibly peaceful location, but walking distance to nearby Luz using the coastal path where the beach wasn't particularly overcrowded and where our teenagers enjoyed the snorkelling and our 6 year old played happily in the sea. Luz has seafront café bars, some market stalls, restaurants and supermarkets. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. Jennifer was incredibly helpful, she was prompt in her responses to our queries and gave us a wealth of information; from detailed directions on how to get to the villa to recommending local restaurants. She even made sure there were some inflatables in the pool for the children. The only suggestion I can make is that it might have been nice to have a small welcome pack when we arrived as it was almost midnight and to have some water, bread, milk etc would have been helpful. We had a great holiday and would love to return to Casa Bonita!

Top quality Villa in superb location
We have been visiting this part of the Algarve for some years and like Porto Donna Maria as a base. Casa Bonita is very well located, just a short walk from Praia Da Luz. Apart from a few sections of rough track, most of the walk can be made on pavements or for those who prefer, the coastal path provides spectacular views. Talking of views, the one from the pool terrace is hard to beat and provides an unobstructed view of the sea. One drawback to being on high ground is that it is often windy. It's not a problem when the wind is warm but a northerly can make sitting out a bit too chilly. There's a lovely covered veranda just outside the lounge with a glazed screen at one end which offers protection from the wind. This is a lovely spot for coffee, breakfast or a glass of wine. The villa is modern and very well furnished. It is spotlessly clean, the beds are comfortable and the kitchen is stocked with ample supplies of chinaware and cooking pans. Shutters on all windows offer additional security but the villa is located in a peaceful residential area and feels very safe anyway., We found we could get UK TV channels via a set top box which isn't too common as many places with a Sky dish no longer have access to UK channels. The free wi fi is invaluable for keeping in touch with the outside world and friends back home. Phone reception was a little unreliable but easily re-established once away from the immediate vicinity. We made extensive use of the BBQ, a proper Portuguese type fired by charcoal. The local supermarket in Luz, Baptista, stocks everything you need and the quality of meat there is superb. There's a nearby fishmonger sharing a shop with a patisserie and the choice is excellent but best go early in the busy season to have a bigger choice. Although Luz has many good restaurants, we tend to eat out further afield. A half hour drive to the west coast is rewarded by spectacular scenery, long sandy beaches and lovely local food, with a view. Drive to the town of Carapateira, walk on the beach at Amado, eat at Sitio do Forno on the clifftop and then take the breathtaking drive along the rough track across the headland to the beach at Bordeira on the other side. It's an experience that's hard to beat. The pool is a good size but heating is advisable unless you like it chilly. We will be coming back to Casa Bonita. The owner is very responsive and odd glitches are quickly resolved. In short, there's much to love and little to dislike.

Casa Bonita, a home from home
We spent the last week of March at Casa Bonita. The brief on the villa certainly did not disappoint: stunning views; superb outdoor space with a great (heated) pool for the kids and adults to enjoy; the internal space offering a great homely family environment (kids through to the elderly visitors). Moreover, both the internal and outdoor cooking areas were not only functional but afforded all the opportunity to participate in cooking some great local fish and meat or simply relax together sipping a lovely chilled glass of vino. The cliff tops walk / jogging paths to either Luz or Burgau are breath taking and offer a great opportunity to burn off some of those calories or simply finish the day off with a nice cocktail. Some lovely restaurants and bars in Luz - our favourites places: Lazuli Luz - warm and friendly atmosphere whether it was for a hearty breakfast or cocktail hour. Fortaleza – excellent food and atmosphere (live band). Fabulous outside dining area overlooking the ocean which was not open when we visited but could only further enhance any dining experience. Jennifer thanks a million. Our holiday was truly fab and a giggle every minute. We have fantastic holiday memories and everything about your villa, as well as its location etc. have certainly contributed. We'll definitely visit again but minimum 2 weeks next time. Location is absolutely amazing. Communication was A1 all the way. Here are the reasons I am not giving 5 stars : Ants at the beginning and the end of the trip (a product was there to prevent the infestation) Showers were clogged up (a product was also available but we had to buy more) No extra toilet paper nor trash bags (a little inconvenient) One the A/C unit was leaking (minor issue since there are 7 units in the house) The owners were understanding of most of these issues and offered a compensation. All in all, a very nice house for two families. Very confortable. 8 minutes from Luz and 15 from Lagos. Would recommand.

Belle maison avec une vue exceptionnelle. On déploiera simplement le surtout systématique demandé pour la clim, pour le chauffage de la piscine. Un volet roulant était défectueux, malgré la promesse d'intervention personne n'est venu. On aurait aussi apprécié d'être informé préalablement de l'arrivée du jardinier ou du pisciniste. Bizarre de se retrouver face à un inconnu sansavoir été prévenu. Pour autant, l'appréciation générale est bonne. Cela vaut un 4,6 sur 5.
