“Excellent stay”

Lovely hotel, superb location, beautiful public areas. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and would recommend this option as, while the breakfast buffet was very good, we did try an evening meal that was less than satisfactory. The bar is terrific but was completely dead in the evenings during our visit in March. Service was very friendly and highly efficient.

“Best hotel on our trip”

An excellent hotel in every way. Helpful, cheerful staff. Wholesome breakfast;lovely beach view. Our only reservation is that the opaque window of the bathroom does not give full privacy and guests passing through the outside corridor can readily see shapes of person in bath !

“Excellent location”

Excellent location, hotel will be even better after renovation, frontal seaview rooms have uninterupted view of the beach and sea, rooms are reasonably priced.

“Will be back!”

Rooms were very comfortable, clean, light and airy. Hotel is situation in a prime position to the town facilities and has a lovely atrium with a soothing water feature in the middle which each room leading from this atrium on each floor. 4* value for money during low season - will be back!

“Not impressed”

We went to the Oriental for New Year 2008-09. The hotel is in need of and upgrade and some decorating. The breakfast was not good. It seemed as though they had looked at the guest list and seen that there were not many English people in so they catered only for non-Brits. There was not hot choice except for dried-up scrambled eggs and what looked like cocktail sausages. You even have to go and get your own tea and coffee so by the time you have been backwards and forwards to get your food your cup of tea of coffe has gone cold. It is only available in cups, no tea or coffee pots. The room was on the lowest level and had a musty smell as if it had been closed up for some time. Would not recommend for staying in the winter.
