“Great location”

The hotel is situated immediately on the water just near the harbour and the centre of Alesund - a great location. Some of the rooms must have a fantastic view over the water to the surrounding islands - ours didn't, but we could see the harbour in the other direction. The dining room has an outside terrace over the water, although unfortunately while we were there it was too cold to use. There is a wonderful and very extensive breakfast buffet - a real high point. We booked a room for three and found only two beds on arrival. A folding bed was wheeled in but we were left to put it up and move furniture so it would fit - not what I would have expected from a Radisson hotel. The room was now rather cramped and stuffy. You couldn't open the windows much and the temperature control system didn't seem to incorporate air conditioning. We were there at a weekend and were pointed to a nearby area of free street parking, but during the week would have had to pay to use the hotel car park. Overall it is a nice hotel in a great location but not quite as good as I had hoped.

“Excellent Hotel in convenient location to Hurtigruten Dock”

A very enjoyable stay. Clean modern and airy rooms. Efficient Housekeeping and courteous staff. The outside bar was the ideal place to have a drink and watch the sun go down. Located close to the Hurtigruten Dock so ideal for anyone getting on or off on a port to port trip. A short walk into the town, but not a problem. Also handy for the Tourist Information Kiosk. Good choice at breakfast. Did not use the restaurant facilities.

“Was OK”

We were in Alesund (Norway) around Christmas Holiday and it was difficult to find any hotel to be opened at that time. Once we were in a hotel we understood why. Though Radisson SAS was one of the view hotels opened at all it was not packed, in contrary we were one of few clients there. Good surprise was that our family of four (2 adulsts, 1 teenager and 1 baby) was accommodated in a business class. So we injoyed a very spacious room with no extra fee charged for that. However I was very angry because of parking fine which I got. Car park which situated beside hotel was run by a different company and was chargeable 24h. Ticket had to be bought from a machine. Unfortunately one evening we managed to forget to extend our parking ticket and next morning we had a fine waiting for us on a car front window (80USD). Otherwise everything was OK.

“Tramonti mozzafiato (se si ha fortuna con il tempo!)”

La categoria è un po' elevata rispetto allo standard delle camere (piccole per 4 persone, e, nel nostro caso, ulteriormente ridotta per il ribassamento del tetto), ma in ottima posizione. Spettacolare il tramonto sulla baia. Personale disponibile e veloce nel risolvere i problemi dei clienti.
