Very clean and quiet. The property is beautiful and has a real “up north” feel. The outdoor fire pit and patio was a great place to relax and the pool and hot tub are great. The staff is wonder and the breakfast was better than most places I’ve stayed. We will be going back soon.

The first thing I’d say is how beautiful is this lodge. Upon my entrance, I could see the stone fireplace, vaulted ceilings, and numerous Christmas decorations, in addition to the always available coffee, tea, water, etc. The pool was of good size, and of interesting design. The game room above the check-in desk was a pleasant surprise with a pool table, large TV, and comfortable sitting all around. The breakfasts were more than adequate with many choices of hot and cold foods with a special treat on Christmas morning. The rooms were sufficient in size with a great view of the river, the shower/stool were in a separate little room, the towels/washcloths were of excellent fluffiness and softness, and in the other room there was a large sink, a refrigerator, and many amenities which the lodge provided. Downsize: the beds are hard (needed a topper), the bath/shower is quite narrow causing me to hit the shower curtain every time I turned around which resulted in some water getting out onto the tiled bathroom floor which made it slippery upon exiting the shower even with the bath towel on the floor. Needed: a curved curtain rod, and a longer curtain plus every shower should have a grab bar for safety. Over the tub, caulking was cracked and in need of paint. The shower head could be replaced with one that doesn’t spray so harshly. Above the sink – the upper wall covering was bubbling, caulking cracked, too much moisture in that area. Beds are hard. There's more good.....

My family has stayed at Crooked River Lodge several times and normally have a positive experience. We arrived on a Friday after skiing and decided to go to the pool/hot tub. Unfortunately, they were hosting an “open swim” for twenty kids in the area who were rude and poorly behaved. The next night, we again went to the pool where several teenagers were displaying some unwanted PDA. Since we noticed people getting let in without using a key, I am assuming they were not hotel guests. Not sure we will go back.

Family feeling Atmosphere
This was our fourth time staying here. It's a yearly family, Christmas gathering. Stafford's is beautiful. Enjoyable. The staff is the best. Everyone is so kind. The atmosphere is so relaxing and just a family feel all while we're there.

Beautiful property! They have so many things for you to use…kayaks, fishing poles, skis, etc. They have the most friendliest staff I have ever experienced. They have the most beautiful grounds and an awesome fire pit which they light every morning and ever evening! Definitely going back!

This lodge was by far one of the nicest places I have stayed in. They had amazing breakfast each day which provided me and my children nourishment until dinner time. They used sausage from a local business and homemade bread. The game room was perfect for kids, fire pit perfect for relaxation and meeting new people, and a pool area with a waterfall! The front desk and kitchen staff were extremely kind, accommodating and helpful. It is the perfect place to relax and step away from hectic schedules. I was sad to leave, but can’t wait to return for another visit to Michigan. Thank you from WV, for making our first trip to Michigan so memorable!

We only stayed one night, but it was so nice to take out the hotel kayaks then drive into Harbor Springs for dinner. The room was clean and comfy. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Unique use of kayaks on Crooked River as an amenity! Great gas fire pit nightly and in mornings. Location is away from crazy traffic in Petoskey yet close enough to enjoy that area and more! No restaurant inside but dies serve good breakfast daily included in stay.

This is one of my most favorite places I have ever stayed! Beautiful lodge with outdoor tables on the back. Lovely green land with a river. Game room. Indoor pool and hot tub. Great attention to detail and many amenities to enjoy!

A superb natural setting right on crooked river with kayaks, nature trails with a plethora of wildflowers in bloom. A 24 hour outdoor and indoor fire. A wonderful well maintained inn with great staff. the usual amenities and a few extras that made for a memorable expeience.
