Dear Mr Thomson,We are disappointed to see your review. Can you tell us where we went wrong so we can try and learn from this?
Just one night, but very welcoming, helpful staff; spacious room with huge comfortable bed; excellent quality breakfast.

Thank you very much Alastair for taking the time to review our hotel and also for your lovely compliments with regards to your stay.We do hope that you will come and stay with us again.Diane
Service here is incredible. Well-staffed, experienced, attentive-- the highlight of the stay. Setting is Scottish suburban and visited in the off-season so didn't get a sense of the grounds. Food and beverage had a formality that were worth the trip.

5 star? Hardly
We were given one key - placed in a slot to keep electrics on: Fine, until one of us wanted to leave and return to the room. The room was lovely and the bathroom spacious. However, it was cold and the heater inoperative. I slept with socks on too. The towel rail was nice and hot.
The ceiling light at the door didn't work and bedside lights shaded and so far from bed that reading not at all easy.
In the morning the room was cold and the towel rail also. Neither was operable by me.
There was a small amount of black mould behind the bath taps. Altogether not great. Shame really cos it could be fabulous .

Good morning. Thank you for your review and we are so sorry to read about your recent stay.On check out you did make us aware of this and we had our maintenance team check the room after you left and it has been discovered the towel rail was faulty and we can only apologize for this and thank you for informing us as this has now been rectified with your feedback. Please accept our sincere apologies and we do hope we can welcome you back to the Marcliffe some-time in the future.
Amazing. Quality with everything is outstanding. Food is top notch. Only small note is the dog friendly. Yes, you can bring a dog but only to the one room type (which was nice enough), and dogs are not allowed in the bar, only in the lobby. That was a bit of a disappointment but the whole overall stay was brilliant

Hotel was nice but room not 5 star been in better rooms at 4 star hotels spa was fully booked and unable to order tea and cake in bar in afternoon as they did not offer that as not on the menu? Private party in suite next to my room which was very noisy I did complain but nothing done apart from offer to take 2 drinks off the bill when checking out. Food was ok but again not 5 star I won’t be rushing back to this hotel anytime soon

Thank you for your review. We apologise for the disruption you had with a private party. There was an option of a room move however I realise you felt this was too late in the evening and I am glad to see that the reception team allowed off some drinks on your account. We are sorry to hear you will not return, however if you feel you will in the future, please contact us directly so we can arrange a complimentary upgrade for you.Again, please accept our sincere apologies for your trouble.

Stay was ok but was promised an upgrade when I booked it. They told me that was not available most dissapointing. Also milk was off in the bedroom and got a fly in my melon

Thank you for your review and I am delighted to see that we did give you a discount on departure.
Our complimentary upgrades are subject to availability on arrival and I am sorry we were full and could not do this for you.
Hopefully we can welcome you back some time in the future.
Room very comfortable and had everything we needed. Excellent breakfast served in the morning. We had dinner one of the evenings as well and it was delicious. Highly recommend the marcliffe. Gym small but adequate.
Cleanliness can be improved but also challenging in a big hotel.

Fantastic spot for anyone visiting the city and wants to stay in countryside. Easily accessible from major highwAy from airport and couple of mins from city.
We had a lovely stay and our meal was nice. The staff were all really nice and helpful, however the service in the restaurant was very slow and we had long waits in between each course. Whilst it is nice to see the food being cooked from scratch, we were right next to the pass and it did not feel very relaxed being so close to the hustle and bustle while we wondered if each plate being prepared would at last be ours!
Cant say enough about the good points of this Hotel. From the minute we arrived and were greeted with class and elegance to the attentive staff(including management), and first class food and drinks menu.
Add that to the dog friendly room just to the side of the main entrance and we just couldn't go wrong.
5 Stars for all the tiny little boxes that at ticked at Marcliffe Hotel & Spa Aberdeen.
We will definitely be back.

Attended an event at the hotel and then stayed the night. Room was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful.
Plenty of choice in the bar and not silly prices.
Breakfast was excellent, as were the views.
