“Lived In”
On the whole the hotel was comfortable but a little dated. If it was given a freshen up with new decor and carpets in certain areas it would be perfect. The service among the staff was friendly and welcoming. Although we did not use the swimming pool and fitness area, it looked very good when my wife and I had a walk round. The grounds were very tidy and well kept with plenty of parking for all the guests. We travelled with our own car and found the hotel easy to find and only a few minutes from the town centre.
“Not impressed”
I was staying at this hotel for one night as I was attending a family wedding at another location in Aberdeen. I shared a room with my daughter. The room ( a twin bedded) was very small, clostrophobic and extremely stuffy even with the window open all the time we were there. The room was clean enough but we thought the hotel in general needed a complete refurbishment as the corridors, lifts and stairwells were looking tired and tatty. The main reception area was OK but the general decoration was, in my opinion, a bit dingy and depressing. The breakfast was good and hot but the area used for the breakfast was too small and we ended up having to take a table in the bar to eat our breakfast. Overall I expected better from a Hilton Hotel and was glad that I only stayed for the one night.
“Not impressed with hotel.”
Reception not courtuous. Definite ambient dampness oncarpet, corridor & lift. Very cramped bathroom/toilet. Very weak toilet flush.Overall, not expected standard for a hilton named hotel (more like a cheap franchise version). Good thing we only stayed for 1 night, attending the Aberdeen University Open Day.
“relaxing”
The staff was most helpful and accommodating. Still want the recipes for the corn relish stuff served with the burger.
“Quiet and Relaxing”
I would stay here again. We were pleased with the accomodation except for the distance from City Central. Although taxis were easily accessible I would prefer to be within walking distance of the city. Very quiet and relaxing space and the staff was excellent. Great breakfast but tight room in the twin.
“Aberdeen Hotel”
Overall it was ok. Check in was very pleasant. Rooms need a little more improvement. Room service was dreadful.
“Good Travel Hotel”
I attended a conference at the hotel and was happy with the hotel quality while there.
“would go back”
Excellent parking at the hotel and greeted warmly at reception. All contacts with reception friendly, warm and helpful. Room up flight of stairs (no lift) but offered help with baggage. Room comfortable, clean, with kettle etc, ironing board etc. Excellent breakfasts with pleasant attentive staff. Altgoether a pleasant stay with no negatives. Would go again
“Winter awaits”
We used the hotel as a base to travel in a hired car to the Lochs, Glens and Mountains and had a truly wonderful time, if anyone wants to do the same, you must go on the A939 through part of the Cairngorms i assure you, you will not be disappointed, we were left speechless at what we were seeing, absolutely stunning scenery. Will be be going back and doing exactly the same when theres snow around, and we cant wait
“Hit and Miss!”
The quality of the food doesn't justify 4 stars! The chef who was on duty on the last 2 mornings was great! But the other guy just burnt everything and the fried eggs were like rubber! Had an evening snack which wasn't up to the description on the menu. The weakness of this hotel is the catering. All the staff were charming. We received a welcome at reception and finalising the bill . In parts the carpets need replacing as they are reminiscent of the 80s and need a clean, well the one in our bedroom In a quiet location and very convenient to travelling in to the city as well as out to the Highlands!
