We chose the Scandic Rosendahl because it was close to the park where the Sauna Open Air Festival was taking place - it was just a short, 10 minute walk through a wood! If you're visiting Tampere itself, it's about a 15 minute walk to the centre. The hotel was perfectly comfortable. Good size rooms; comfy beds; nice buffet breakfast. The bathroom was a bit tired - fairly manky shower curtain, for example - but it was clean and functional. Overall, I'd recommend it - but if you're staying in Tampere, there are more central options.
The hotel is mainly catering for relatives of patients at the Tampere University Hospital and it is actually located on the hospital campus, some 3-4 km from the city center.
The hotel is brand spanking new, located in a 7-story multi-use building with offices etc. Rooms are a bit on the small side but spotlessly clean and quite comfy. You can usually get a double room with a double bed at the same price as a single room.
Breakfast is pretty good. The hotel offers some free parking, but it is limited. However, there are plenty of spaces around it that you can use, provided that you arrive after 6 pm and leave around 8 am.
The hotel is good value and works well for business trips to Tampere. It is not a particularly good choice for a weekend break in Tampere or for family trips.
The Hotel was like most Finnish hotels but this one in particular seemed to be stuck in the 40s the corridor and rooms were finished in a way that reminded me of a jerry built ww2 bunker and the shower room had the same kind of effect the breakfast was very regimented almost soviet like but there was plenty of food the food wasnt that great but there was plenty of it.
