We were lucky enough to get a free upgrade on both visits to this hotel. Jacuzzi, very comfortable king size bed and massive room with a bathroom so big that it echoed. The room service meal was delicious though only one turned up instead of 2 due to a communication problem. We were able to store our excess luggage for free at the hotel while visiting the Galopagos Islands. Internet access in the lobby was provided free as well. Complimentary waters in the room were a bonus. Staff were very obliging with tourist information, map of the city, taxi bookings. Coffee and bread rolls available in foyer for early morning checkout before restaurant opened. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

The hotel was well located in the heart of the Amazon avenue experience for eager tourists seeking to discover night life in Quito. At first it was disturbing to hear a loud disco next door, but the noise subsided around midnight. The rooms are well kept and clean. The staff is cordial and friendly. The security of the hotel seems good. Guests are treated in both a friendly and respectful manner, which is a good business model.
The only down to the experience is the slow internet connection and the need to relogin every time one needs the internet with a new password if the one first given expires. However, I was provided with a new password when I requested one.
I did most of my eating out, as the Malls and touristic places are a walking distance literally anywhere from the hotel, in this sense the location added to the experience.
Location is great, rooms are a bit small by american standard but this is normal Quito standard. Very very nice rooms, clean, hospitable staff...great breakfast, very nice ambiance to hang around. Opposite the hotel is a restaurant...don't miss the fish and chifles there...Even though I stayed in two other hotels in Quito (Hotel San Francisco and Casa Joquin), I think Veijo Cuba was the best overall and best overall value. This would be my number one boutique hotel choice....
