This was an excellent port of call in Paros for two nights: very close to the ferry from which we were collected and to all the highlights of Paros from beach to old town to antiquities. These are family-run, guest-friendly 'Rooms' of which there are several in Paros and this was a very good choice.

We had a great time staying at the Nikolas Hotel. The view from our balcony was AMAZING and the lady who worked at the front desk was so helpful. She spoke perfect English and told us all that there was to do in Paros. The location was great too because it was in a quite area, yet just a short 2 minute walk from the main part of town. The only downside was that the sink dripped and the shower was missing a curtain and wasn't always hot, but we were able to survive. For the price, it was perfect for us and I would suggest it to anyone. Also, I should note that we stayed in early April and the island was still pretty dead. The bar/cafe in the hotel has a great view and is really nice, but I can imagine it might get a little loud at night during the summer months because the outdoor patio is directly below everyone's balconies.

What a delightful spot to stay in Parikia. We were surprised with an option to stay in the garden apartment when a twin room wasn't available in the main hotel. The garden became our second room as we enjoyed a cool drink and a game of cards each evening. The option of staying among locals made our trip even more enjoyable.

We spent 5 days here in March - weather cold very windy and sunny. Our room was warm and faced the sun all day. The hotel is a 2 minutes walk from the ferry and bus station. We did not have breakfast in the hotel because coffee shops and bakery were 1 minute away and being winter we enjoyed people watching in the mornings when the Paros population travels into the capital for shopping business and to meet the various ferry boats. Because we spent all our time in the town or walking out from it we enjoyed the friendliness of the locals before the tourist season really started. There is an excellent self service restaurant 1 minute from the hotel where the food is all freshly cooked using local produce. There were a few people using the hotel-some travellign some young Greeks visiting from Athens on business. Information and a chat with the staff is always possible. A very warm and enjoyable experience.
The Arian Hotel is a family hotel and as such, is not for everyone. For those who are open to the experience of getting to know the inn keeper, her family, friends, and grandkids in an attractive yet unpretentious setting, however, this hotel is an excellent option. In fact, if you like a quaint, elegant setting punctuated by the sound of children laughing, I would the Arian is right up your alley.
I stayed at the Arian for three days during September 2001. The hotel is situated about six blocks west of the ferry dock in Paros' main hub. Shops, restaurants, and facilities are an easy 5 minute walk and the harbor is just a block away. Its rooms are small, modest, and quiet, but attractively appointed and immaculately maintained. The salon is quite simply beautiful. I will not bother trying to describe it further. I would only fall short.
Most memorable are the staff. They are friendly and personable, and every one bend over backwards to make sure your needs are taken care of. In fact, I would like to personally thank the owner, her daughter Kristina, and the housekeeping staffer - Marta, for taking such good care of me.
