Zanzibar’s Spice Farms:
Known as the “Spice Island,” Zanzibar’s lush countryside is a fragrant paradise where cloves, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg grow in abundance. A visit to a spice farm is more than a tour—it’s an immersive experience that awakens all your senses.
Stroll through shaded plantations with a knowledgeable guide who will pluck fresh spices straight from the trees, letting you taste, smell, and even peel them yourself. Crush a cinnamon leaf between your fingers, sample juicy tropical fruits straight from the branch, and learn how Zanzibar became the world’s spice capital.
After the tour, browse handcrafted spices, soaps, and creams made by local women’s cooperatives—perfect souvenirs to bring a piece of Zanzibar home. For a truly hands-on experience, try a traditional weaving class, where you can create your own coconut-leaf basket under the guidance of skilled artisans.
This tour is a feast for the senses, blending education, culture, and the simple joy of connecting with Zanzibar’s land and people.

Stone Town:
Step into the enchanting labyrinth of Stone Town, Zanzibar’s historic heart, where every narrow alleyway whispers tales of sultans, traders, and explorers. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this ancient town is a mesmerising blend of Swahili, Arab, Persian, Indian, and European influences. Wander past grand Zanzibar Doors intricately carved with brass studs and Quranic inscriptions that stand as proud symbols of the island’s rich heritage.
Delve into the past at the haunting Old Slave Market, where the Anglican Cathedral now stands as a poignant memorial to Zanzibar’s dark history. Nearby, the Sultan’s Palace (Beit al-Sahel) offers a glimpse into the lavish lives of Zanzibar’s former rulers, while the Old Arabic Fort a 17th-century fortress hosts vibrant cultural events under the stars.
For a taste of local life, lose yourself in the lively fruit and vegetable market, where the scent of fresh spices and tropical fruits fills the air. As the sun sets, join locals and travellers at Forodhani Gardens, where the night market sizzles with Zanzibari street food: think grilled seafood, spicy urojo soup, and sweet Zanzibar pizzas.
With its blend of history, culture, and vibrant street life, Stone Town is not just a destination—it’s an unforgettable journey through time.
