“Old Mukhrani” Winery – Where Tradition Meets Taste
Located in the historic region of Mukhrani, “Old Mukhrani” is a boutique winery that blends centuries-old Georgian winemaking traditions with modern craftsmanship. With its own small, carefully maintained vineyards, the winery focuses on quality over quantity.
The vineyards are home to indigenous grape varieties such as Saperavi, Chinuri, Mukhamtsvane, a.t. Grown in an eco-friendly environment and harvested by hand, the grapes are processed using both traditional Kvevri methods and modern techniques to produce red, white, and amber wines.
Kvevri wine, fermented and aged in buried clay vessels, is a signature of “Old Mukhrani”. These natural wines express the true character of the grape and terroir. The winery also produces high-quality Chacha and Vodka, using local grapes and time-honored distillation methods.
Beyond production, “Old Mukhrani” offers an authentic wine experience. Visitors can take part in guided tasting masterclasses, which include:
Vineyard and cellar tours
Insight into Georgian winemaking history
Guided tastings led by a sommelier
Chacha and Vodka sampling
Optional Georgian food pairings
Perfect for both casual wine lovers and professionals, the masterclass is a unique way to explore Georgia’s winemaking culture up close.
“Old Mukhrani” invites all who appreciate natural wines, traditional spirits, and Georgian hospitality to discover the rich flavour and heritage found in every bottle.
