Your Wasini Island adventure begins with an early morning pick-up between 5:30–5:40 am from
Mombasa and 7:20–7:30 am from Diani as you set off on a scenic drive along the Mombasa-Lungalunga Highway for approximately one hour towards Shimoni. Watch the sunrise over the coastal hills as you make your way to Shimoni Jetty. Upon arrival, our friendly guide will warmly welcome you and assist with ticket verification. Step aboard our dhow and sail across the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean in search of playful wild dolphins. Capture magical photos as they swim alongside your boat while you enjoy a light Swahili breakfast and refreshing drinks on board. The cruise continues to the spectacular Kisite-Mpunguti Marine National Park, where you’ll dive into a world of colourful corals and tropical fish during a two-hour snorkelling experience, truly one of the highlights of the trip.
After snorkelling, refresh with cold drinks before sailing to the peaceful Wasini Island. Stroll through the charming coastal village as our guide shares stories of local Swahili culture and life on the island. Take a serene walk along the mangrove boardwalk, surrounded by nature before heading back to the mainland for a mouth-watering seafood lunch, with vegetarian options available. Relax a bit from the day’s activities. Your journey ends with a visit to the historic Shimoni Slave Caves, where you’ll step back in time and reflect on the island’s rich history.
