What you can expect

  • Begin your adventure with a safety briefing. Have your guide adjust your saddle height and explain the basic operation of the sports bike, as well as Japan's traffic rules and safety measures. Rest assured that helmets are mandatory and included in the price. If you prefer an electric-assisted bicycle, it is available for an additional fee.

Once you're ready, leave the city behind and head for the beautiful coastline. Feel the warm tropical breeze as you cycle along the panoramic views of the sparkling Wakaura Bay.

Stop at the picturesque fishing village of Saikazaki, known as the “Amalfi of Wakayama” for its stunning cliffside location. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the port town, take photos of the shimmering bay, and listen to the soothing sound of the waves.

Continue along the Wakayama800 cycling route, which offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean on one side and lush greenery on the other. Enjoy the gentle ups and downs of the route and the refreshing sea breeze.

Arrive at the historic Awashima Shrine in the quiet fishing port of Kada. Learn about the unique beliefs of the people who live by the sea and feel your heart fill with the tranquility of the seaside and the beautiful colours of the seasons.

After a long ride, enjoy a delicious lunch at a hidden local restaurant with a view of the sea. Savour the freshest seafood of the day, including Kada's speciality, line-caught sea bream, prepared in the best way possible.

Visit the finish line monument of Japan's longest national cycling route, a sacred place for cyclists. If you're lucky, you may even meet local cyclists and experience the warm cycling culture and connections of Wakayama.

Before heading back, take a break on the quiet shores of Kada. Listen to the gentle sound of the waves and let the sea breeze refresh your mind and body. Enjoy a peaceful and relaxing end to your journey.
