Discover the flavours of South African Wagyu during an immersive seven-course Wagyu and Cape Wine Pairing Experience at Prime Wagyu on Strand Beachfront. Rather than simply serving you a steak, this tasting journey explores seven different expressions of Wagyu and how preparation changes the flavour, texture and character of the beef. Your experience begins delicately with Wagyu Flat Iron Nigiri before progressing through raw, cured, handcrafted, slow-cooked and grilled Wagyu. The centrepiece is a selection from the grill, where Wagyu rump espetada, fillet and rib-eye are served for the table to share. Finish with something unexpected: our Wagyu Tallow Malva Pudding. Each stage is paired with a 50ml tasting of a selected Cape wine from renowned South African producers including Delaire Graff, Ken Forrester, Tokara, Kanonkop, Anthonij Rupert and Haute Cabrière. Over approximately two and a half hours, you'll discover how Wagyu can be transformed by different cooking techniques while tasting wines from some of the Cape's best-known wine regions.
