This e-bike loop tour departs from Volterra and offers one of the most “authentic” rides in the area: gentle hills, whitewashed roads, isolated farms, and continuous views of the ridges. It is a scenic and atmospheric itinerary, perfect for those who want to immerse themselves in rural Tuscany away from traffic, with a mixed surface (quiet asphalt and smooth dirt roads) and a hilly profile that is a pleasure to tackle on an e-bike.

After the first few kilometres, you enter the open landscape around Volterra, where the view stretches towards Monte Voltraio and the countryside changes colour depending on the season. One of the most beautiful moments of the tour is the passage through the Villa Palagione area and, immediately afterwards, the arrival at the Borgo di Pignano: a scenic stop, ideal for a break and a few photos, surrounded by hills and picture-postcard dirt roads.

The tour continues towards Ulignano through a wider and brighter countryside, with smooth descents and stretches at high altitude that offer ever-changing views of the valley. A short stop outside the Villa di Ulignano completes the “historical” part of the route before returning to Volterra, with the final climb closing the loop and bringing you back to the starting point.
