Our first stop will be one of the 7 wonders of the modern world and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988. We are talking about the incomparable Chichén Itzá. Receive a full-guide tour by one of the most experienced tour guides, so you don't miss a piece of information and history. The name of this emblematic city means "the mouth of the well of the water witchdoctors" since there are a lot of cenotes in Yucatán, and they were considered sacred for the ancient Mayans as they were the entrance to the infraworld and the means of giving offerings to their gods. The Kukulcan Temple was built above a cenote. This is just one of the amazing details about this Mayan Castle, besides the representation of their calendar, beliefs, and gods in its construction.
