What you can expect

Escape the city and explore one of the most iconic locations along the Danube Bend with this full-day hiking and cultural tour from Budapest.

We begin our journey at Nyugati Railway Station, boarding the scenic panoramic train for a beautiful one-hour ride along the river. Upon arrival, we continue with a short ferry crossing, a unique and memorable experience as we float across the Danube — ferry tickets are included.

From the ferry port, we’ll hike uphill through the Kálvária path, passing forested trails and panoramic viewpoints on our way to Visegrád Castle. The hike offers stunning views throughout and is moderately challenging (around 250m elevation gain).

At the top, we’ll visit the historic Visegrád Fortress, with entry tickets included. Enjoy breathtaking 360° views over the Danube Bend — one of the most spectacular sights in Hungary. After exploring the castle and surroundings, we’ll return to Budapest the same way: on foot, by ferry, and panoramic train.

Throughout the day, your experienced local guide will accompany you, sharing insights and assisting you every step of the way.
